My wife and I went out for a date night. We wanted to step out to hear some live music. Plus one of my partnas (Amita aka Black Zola/WhiskeyKing) was performing and I hadn't seen him in over a year. NEway..I can say the music was right. There was a mixture of Rap, R&B, and Soul, Everbody rocked out! Of course we had a couple drinks and some food. We started with the Royal Flush. After that, we moved to the Rum Punch. This came in a big cup. It may have been 16 oz or more. Plus they have bourbon punch and vodka punch. But we'll try those next time 😜. We ended up getting the creamy chicken soup. Although it was a small bowl, it was pretty good. Don't try to share this. Just gwan n get ya own bowl. We also got fries and their shrimp burrito (only half is in the picture cause ya menz n nem been too hongry🤣), which was the special for the night. It was done right! Of course more shrimp is always better lol. But the taste was on point. The queso did something for it. I'm going to say is just to try it. As far as the atmosphere, it was packed and that's a good thing. So if you're one of those people that like to sit down, make sure you get there early if there's a show. And during this season, make sure you have a coat.. cause you will feel that cold air hittin on you! Other than that, everything was pretty good and we had fun. Now make sure you share your outings with us and check out our other reviews. SHALOM

Everything was delicious. My friends took me here and they weren't joking about the quality of food and drink. But I'm not here to give a food review. I actually just kinda wanted to explain the Friday setup from about 7pm to 9pm that I experienced because I would've been lost had I not been with someone who had been here before. We went to the bar, ordered our drinks. Bartender had them back quickly. Asked us if we wanted food...we ordered..opened separate tabs and were given those vibrating pucks. From there we sat ourselves with our drinks at a booth. Once one of the pucks light up it's time to grab your food...inside you'll see the DJ booth and western swing doors. Drop your puck and grab your food at the countertop near the western swing doors. **(Condiments and napkins and forks are also in this area. You may have to return to this area if you need more napkins/knives/etc)** Amazing food, amazing service just a learning curve if you haven't been here before. Also I noticed as soon as we were leaving the cover charge started and exits changed (like where I came in originally was blocked off). All I'm getting at is if you're a solo first timer maybe hit the bar first and just enjoy a drink and watch how this place operates. Glad I had a Royal American previous visitor with me.

The Royal American looks like and is a dive but DO NOT let that fool or deter you. Their food is off the hook fantastic, they have the basics but they also have elevated dishes as well. The have a soup of the week, different specials, and the staff meal of the week. I’ve eaten at TRA multiple times but this is my first time reviewing. This trip I got the Patty Melt Lance’s way. Without a doubt the best patty melt I’ve ever had. Trust me you can’t go wrong, just make sure that you have plenty of napkins. To top it off the draft beer is ice cold. If you don’t know, now you know! The Royal has tuned into a regular on my rotation. I’m updating with the Red Plate Special. It was a spicy chicken sandwich which was made with roasted garlic mustard, coleslaw, spicy umami wing sauce, and Swiss cheese. It was phenomenally good. They have new specials every week and you should check them out!

I have been to this restaurant several times on the weekends. Tonight I decided to take a friend and the experience was horrible and embarrassing. The security guard known as "Juice" at the door tonight turned us around after checking our identification (we're both over the age 21) because he personally hates me because of the fact that I am not interested in dating him. He double looked at my identification, realized who I was and his exact words were "Oh no, I don't want y'all here go somewhere else" as he fanned us off as if we were flies. We politely returned to our vehicle and I called the restaurant to see if the unfair treatment was ok? I was told a manager was not present and the person who answered was more concerned about the security's side of the story than us being mistreated and turned away. I will be reporting the security guard to his employer and I will never return to The...
