Dollar Tree — Local services in Charlotte

I usually don't leave reviews. The service has to be extremely outstanding or incredibly horrible. Unfortunately, it was the latter. My issue wasn't with the store presentation or sales items (I actually found a birthday card that was absolutely perfect!). It was with the associates.

After grabbing my 8 items, I headed it to check out. At this time it's around 5:20. Once I got up to the front, I saw there was only one register open and the line was going down the toiletry aisle. Literally, down the aisle. There had to easily be 10 people in front of me. There was the one cashier, Kendi.

Obviously, I was annoyed. But that isn't what made leave this review. By the time I reach the front (I was the very next customer), TWO associates came out of the FRONT office around 5:40. Casually. Without haste. One associate went to the back of the store, immediately. The other went directly to a register. Casually. Without haste. And proceeded to open the register.

These two associates allowed several customers to wait in line for 20 minutes or more. And it's not like they couldn't have been aware of the situation. Again, they came from the front office. There was no apology. They simply did not care. I wouldn't suggest this Dollar Tree to anyone. A 10 minute trip, turned into a 30 minute...

Solid dollar tree. Lots of inventory. Quite organized for a dollar tree. I was looking for 3 items: food storage containers for my pantry, organizational baskets or containers for my linen closet, and glass cleaner. I found pantry food storage and glass cleaner. They have some storage baskets but I was looking for 2 different specific kinds which I didn't find.

Overall great visit. I asked an associate for help and she knew exactly what I was looking for and told me exactly where it was, I appreciate the floorplan knowledge it probably saved me 10 minutes of wondering...

Messy store, dirty, employees have verbal fights with each other in front of customers. Bad environment! Two employees had an altercation in the checkout. I could hear them in the back of the store. When I got to the check out lines they were still going at it, but now another employee came in to referee. The one employee was telling the “referee” about what was going on..I wasn’t making attention until I heard the employee describing someone of the lgbtq community in a derogatory manner....
