This company has the worst customer service imaginable. A cashier bagged my bread UPRIGHT with a box of Bisquick mix and a bag of pretzels, and I didn't notice until I got home. I was mad, because I spent $3 on a loaf of bread that I know I won't even eat a third of, and she couldn't even put it in a separate bag. (And yes, I was also mad at myself for not noticing it when she did it, but I don't normally watch cashiers like a hawk. I don't have to normally.)
So when I got home, I called the 1-800 Customer Service number at the bottom of my receipt, and I got a recorded message. They're only open M-F during regular business hours. Then I called the store and asked to speak to the manager, and it took more than three minutes for someone to finally take me off hold. By that time, I was like "Screw this" and hung up on him, deciding instead to write the company.
So I get online, and not only do they limit "emails" to 1,000 characters (?), I couldn't actually submit my complaint because it's required to select the store location (store 2217, in case you're wondering), but there's no option to actually select a store, type it in, or anything. In other words, there is no possible way to communicate with them via email.
The Food Lion is right next to me, but from now on, I'm only shopping at Harris Teeter or Walmart. While it bothered me that the cashier could care less about her job or how she treated customers (and I've worked at a grocery store - it's not a difficult job to do well if you want to do well), the complete lack of customer service from Food Lion in general makes it worth my time to always...

So I went to get my refund and I was met with absolute rudeness from two ladies at the Customer service counter. They basically said there was nothing they could do and rudely tried to dismiss me. I asked for a manager and the grocery manager Chad was also extremely rude and disrespectful. They told me I had to wait for rug doctor to check the machine and that they would call me back. I never received that phone call. Day after day I went to see if there had been any resolution. Everyday I was told someone would call and still had to deal with the rudeness of the ladies at the counter. Finally Thursday I went and spoke to the store Manager Mark. Mark told me that if I didn't hear back from Chad by Friday he would issue the full refund. Friday comes and I hear nothing. S this morning I arrive to get my full refund. I was again met with rudeness and they tried to get me to wait for Chad. Thanks to Damien I was able to get my full refund and the younger gentleman at the counter assisted in that. I have worked in retail and customer service. I am fully aware that the customer isn't always right, but that doesn't give any justification to treat a customer with such disrespect. If I were the manager I would fire them all in a heartbeat. Truly...

One of the main reasons I shop at FL is because,I love many of their brand items. Such as FL's 1/2 &1/2, fancy shredded 4 cheese Mexican blend,deli Swiss cheese,stone ground white corn tortilla cupz, thick & chunky salsa hot, asparagus Spears, tortilla chips nacho cheese flavor, dill pickle flavored chips, wavy chips, original coffee creamer, French vanilla coffee creamer, Spanish olives, sliced beets, mini marshmallows, instant rice, whole chickens, boneless pork chops, chunky chocolate chip cookies, Primo's chocolate sandwich cookies with vanilla cream filling, thick cut bacon, mini marshmallows. Everything I listed is a Food Lion Brand product and, they all taste better than original Brand Products that's why I buy them. I shop at Food Lion about four or five times a month and I spend at least 3 to $400 a month on products. I'm sure that I spend between 3 to $4,000 a year buying food at Food Lion. It's worth every penny. I'm happy with everything I buy because it's very good. I'm sorry that my answer was so lengthy but, you did ask, and I had to tell you the honest truth.
