Teriyaki Grill Express II — Restaurant in Charlotte

I WAS a frequent customer of this establishment and I pride myself in never being rude or nasty. I did not get the same courtesy today. I was treated as if my money and I had not value and I will never eat there again! I am extremely disappointed and will not patronize a place that doesnt appreciate me or my loyalty and business.

I have not eaten meat for 2 years so the places to get more than fries were few and far between in my local area.

Today I called Teriyaki Express 2 at 6:56pm to place an order and waited patiently for almost 4 full minutes on hold and placed an order for hibachi. As a chef I know how long something takes to prepare and was told it would be 15 minutes. I have never waited that long but I went to the store to get my food and the young girl at the counter took my payment and said it wasnt ready. Surprised by this I went and sat down in the establishment quietly and after a few minutes and a phone call I checked the time and it was 7:30pm on the dot.

My 15 minutes order was still not ready after 30 minutes. I went to the counter and simply asked the young at the counter of my order had been put in at the time of my call. She insisted it was and began to get visually agitated as I let her know it was 30 minutes. With other customers behind me as I asked for her manager she looked past me and spoke loudly to call the next customer. Unsatisfied I stood there and told her she was not going to dismiss me and she still refused to get her manager. Finally I got the managers attention and he checked and my food was right there waiting to be bagged had the cashier checked instead of being a childish attitude ridden young person. She accused me of being rude and nasty on other occasions and I had not so I was getting the brunt of her frustration with someone else who I dont know and as a result I gave the food back and asked for a refund as the cashier continued to lie on me and say I had treated her terribly in the past.

I WILL NEVER EVER EAT THERE AGAIN. I WILL TELL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY NOT TO EAT THERE. I WILL YELL IT FROM THE .MOUNTAIN TOP. Food is a primary expense and I will not support restaurants who have horrible customer service the manager was apologetic but his lack luster apology was no match for the way I was disrespected. And I'm not surprised other customers walked out seeing how poorly I was treated.

I live very close to this location and have been ordering from there since they opened. And for a long time the food was top notch, especially for the price. They changed cooks a few times but the food remained the same which I was happy to see. Due to scheduling I haven’t been able to order from here in a while so I decided to grab some food one evening. The food that night was subpar at best, which I found very odd considering how great the service and food used to be. But after my order yesterday from there I can safely say I will NEVER order from this restaurant again. Everyone can have a bad day at work and the food not be as good as it has previously been but that was the case here. The food itself tasted terrible. They underwent new management a few months back and I’m assuming the new owners have tried cutting corners. The chicken used to be chunked chicken breast. Now it is this second rate stringy type of cheap chicken. Idk where they’re ordering it from now but it wasn’t the same. The fried rice tasted like it had been stuck under a heat lamp for about an hr as well. Keep in mind I ordered my food at 12:30 so I figured it would be busy but judging by the taste of the food I’d say they made a ton of rice ahead of time and served that disgusting mess to their consumers. It took me a minute to write this because as i keep thinking about it i get sick. Yesterday i ordered online to pick up on New Years Eve and this would be my 3rd time going to this place. I have always order the same 2 Bourbon Chicken Meals. I get home and relax eating my food and it was not just one hair but two strings of hair in my food. I so wanted to believe it was mines but because i don't have fine straight hair, i knew it wasn't. Like we all who find hair in our food we instantly get sick. I called them immediately to let them know and she wanted me to return both orders so they would make me two more. I told her i am not traveling back out and night and i don't want another order after i found hair in my food. She kept insisting on me coming back to get a new order but not to bring the food back to get my money back. I said you know what, i am throwing this away, do what you want. I took of picture of it and i won't be back. I think this is a sign for me to stop eating out. Although i cook all the time, every now and then like once every 2 months or so, we will pick something up and everything that we have lately, we have had a really bad experience.
