Now I don’t normally leave bad reviews, but my experience here at this location was not at all what I expected. After seeing many other good reviews, checking out the Instagram & Facebook account I was sold. I needed my hair braided last min & honestly I don’t go to Africans. I have before & never had a bad experience. The girls that I normally go to for braids were booked. Which I know I a lot of people that do braids are booked for the summer. So after I can across this shop & saw the work I thought why not. I chose this location on S. Tryon because it’s only 15 min away from where I live, where as the other locations on N. Tryon are about 30-35 min away. At first the day before my appt I received a confirmation call which I thought was very professional. The morning of my appt which was at 9:45 am, I arrived at the place like 10 min before hand. I walked in, & the lady at the front greeted me & told me to sign in. I did & she walked me to a station. Once I was seated she told me someone would be with me shortly. There were only 3 other clients when I got there. Each were already seated & had someone working on them. One girl who was receiving braids had one person doing her hair, another worker was just sitting there talking. I waited for literally just about 30 min before someone came to me. The same lady who greeted me & told me to sign in cane to me again & said someone would be with me. At that point I was irritated. I booked an appointment. Why am I waiting when there are workers in here not doing anything. So about 10-15 min later a girl walked in, greeted me, apologized for me being late & gatherer what she needed to start my braids. Mind you I got box braids with triangle parts. On the website it said 5 hours, which is fine. The girl who I assumed was braiding my hair then turned to another lady who had just walked in & started on her hair which confused me. So the same worker that was just sitting there talking & looking at me & the lady that greeted me when I walked in proceeded to start braiding my hair. No one said anything to me which was beyond me. The entire time I sat there waiting they were there the whole time & no one did anything. Needless to say the braided my hair & it took 3 hours tops. The issue I have now is I felt like the rushed through my hair. Some of my braids are big, some are small. I even have my natural hair sticking out the braids & it hasn’t even been a full week yet. Very rushed work. The first girl that I thought was gonna braid my hair asked me how long did I want them & I told her down my back, not even touching my waist but alittle above my waist. The price was 160, she told me for that length it would be 190 I’m like seriously? I’ve gotten long braids before & no one has ever charged extra, only butt length & longer. I just told her do the normal length because I refuse to pay that especially after I waited so long. My braids in the back are short. Like just barely touching my bra short. The braids in the front are longer. Once they finished, I knew I didn’t like it. Honestly I’m not one to complain & instead of getting up & walking out I just sat there because I really needed my hair braided. I said all that to say the professionalism of this shop was not what I expected & I didn’t like the service at all. I’ve had braids before & they’ve held up pretty good. My braids don’t look horrible, but they aren’t the best. The fact that some are different sizes & my real hair is sticking out already is a big disappointment. I won’t be returning to this location ever. & I honestly regret paying that 160 & leaving a $10 tip. As I said I don’t leave bad reviews, but this will never...

This would be a 1-star, but they refunded my deposit without me even having to ask.

Y’all.. I reached out to the salon, told them I was looking to get mini-twists on my natural hair. No added hair, just small twists for my natural hair. I sent SEVERAL pictures and was quoted $130.

When I arrived, the stylist took a while to get started in my hair. After she did a row of twists she started speaking on the phone in another language. She kept taking long breaks to text and talk on the phone. She was acting strangely annoyed the entire time she was doing the first row of my hair. I went to the bathroom to check my hair and could tell the parts and twists were much bigger than the pictures I sent. On top of that, the rows were not straight and two different sizes.

When I came back to the chair my stylist was in the back room on the phone. I asked the other stylist if everything was okay and what was going on and no one would tell me anything.

Finally, she came out and said that for what I wanted, I would actually need to pay $200 or more. I shared that I sent pictures and was told $130 and that the parts were already too large. After a short back and forth, I said, no worries gathered my things and left.

A friend of mine also visited this salon and warned me that they would up charge me once I was in the chair. I figured my experience would be different since I was just getting my natural hair done. It wasn’t. (On a lesser, more personal preference note: She also CAKED my hair in gel. I had to wash it several times to get it out.)

Do not recommend. Way too many options for braids and natural hair...

This was the worse first experience ever I’m never going back. I called early in the morning for an appointment at 2:30 for some Havana twist. On the phone with the manager I was quoted $200. So I said okay cool I’ll be there at 2:30. So when I arrived on time to be exact I informed the girl that was at the front. She took her sweet everlasting time. It took two people to checkout one person? So then I finally sat down about 10 mins later. Then they wanted to play who gone do my hair for another 10 mins. The girl didn’t start my hair until 3 pm.Then she came showing me the different sizes of braids I said do the size price I was quoted which was $200. She then said okay. So then she started doing my hair and I’m sitting there watching her in the mirror she making my parts all big and spaced out so I said what are you doing ? This not how I wanted. So then on top of that I had to be to work and I was told 4 hours ended up staying there for almost 7. Then it was time to pay and they gone try to charge me $230 when the back of my head is way different from my front. I will never go back. I’m very...
