This review is not just about the rudeness, attitudes and insults by employees but also the discrimination and violation of State law. Aug. 5th 2024, I walked in the store to join as a member as a tax exempt organization and the employee Sheila, i believe her name is (spanish speaking girl with long fake eyelashes), continued to lie to me and tell me they don't accept the NC State sales and use tax when the Restaurant Depots website clearly says they do. And it is also posted on a sheet stuck to the back of the computer monitor at the registration deck. I asked Sheila if her computer has internet so she can pull up the RD website to show her where it says the State forms needed. She told me she doesn't have internet and played dumb as if she didnt understand my question. She went on to tell me i needed a State Resale license number and they dont accept NC Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Exemption certificate (E-595E). After requesting for a manager, Branch Manager came and called the supervisor. Supervisor said, they dont take my paper form which is the State's E-595E exemption certificate, they have their own form they fillout on the computer which is the same E-595E NCDOR Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Exemption certificate, just in digital form. But Sheila said to me they dont accept it at all.
Now the supervisor is telling me they fillout a (outdated E-595E) form on their computer and will need a resale number certificate to send with it. After explaining numerous times and asking if they read the instructions to the form, they refuse to read the form im giving them or the RD application i filled out as tax exempt organization. According to the instructions of the E-595E form, the purchaser gives the form to the seller with their information and the reason for exemption. My organization will not check off RESALE box for reason for exemption, so it will not need a Resale number. Every organizations exemption is different. The State form instructions also says its not up to the seller to determine if purchaser is exempt and to include a Federal EIN in place of a State ID Resale number. The supervisor said ok we will send it to corporate but they will deny it anyway. If you are sending the wrong information to corporate and checking off the wrong box without customers knowledge, of course it will get denied. But as stated above, it is not up to the seller to determine who is exempt.
Now that Sheila was told to send the information over to corporate for tax exemption, I asked her to setup my membership account. Acting like she didnt want to do it, She ask for ID in which i provided and she wanted to interrogate me specifically about a drivers license asking how did i get here, accusing me of driving without a license and threatening to call the police which is also a threat on my life when no crime was committed. To further insult, Sheila ask me if i am married or have children. I said, what does that have to do with anything? She said to me, "I FEEL SORRY FOR THEM". I was blown away. I even asked does she treat everyone this way and she answer with, No.
For any company to continue to employ someone with this behavior and disrespect towards customers because they want to discriminate and lie to customers on the job, that company should not be allowed a license to do business in the State. I will be waiting for a response from Management after...
Read moreI have only been to this location twice the first time the same guy that cashed me out the first time he got into it with someone in front of me this time he decided to be rude to me .I came in to do an Instacart yesterday and apparently the item that the customer ordered was over the amount that was wrong up, which that was the issue. The first time we went in there the guy was ringing up items incorrectly so then he goes well, If you move to the side, and call instacart I’ll suspend your transaction and then you can come back and I’ll cash you out so I then just ask him to remove the most expensive item because it was declining the transaction. He then advise me I need to get back in line that he was not about to ring me up I had to go ask for a manager. He needs to be evaluated and checked out everyone in there seems like they were just overworked and underpaid and always have attitude. He was very very rude and disrespectful to not assist me after he advised me he would. Then he advised I need to get back in line after we stood in line for 10 minutes we are on a time limit and he had no reason to be upset about my order. I will not be Instacart in your location. Please keep in mind that Instacart also keep your business moving and if people are being treated like that when they come into shop for customer, they will not do business at your location. The mannerism and the attitudes were horrible. I will say that the young men at the location they was stocking and still managed to help and they were magnificent. They helped me find certain items that I was unable to find immediately it was just your cashiers. Please teach them some customer service and better mannerism, especially again dealing with Instacart. I hope this helps. Now this goes to show how unprofessional this location is and how much their mannerism matches the employees at the location instead of the owner, correcting the mannerism of his cashier and his managers he reaches out to Instacart and tell them that I’m no longer allowed in his store when I have the beginning of this story I advised I was never going back in that store now what you should do is contact Instacart and ask them to remove you as a lot of your orders, sit in queue because nobody wants to deal with the unprofessionalism of your staff and your managers and your cashiers. I’ve already contacted Instacart and told them about your behavior in the store. I’m not sure why businesses feel that they can treat or speak to Instacart reps any kind of way, but that just does not fly and that’s why I decided not to shop at your location and also let other Instacart reps beware of the treatment that I receive instead of your apologizing you reached out to Instacart. You have a 3.5?rating I’m a 5 star Instacart rep. My apologies, but you can’t compete where you don’t compare. Please check your reps instead of trying to check an Instacart rep by reaching out to Instacart. Read moreI literally spent 2 hours in this store today shopping for 3 items. The customer service in this location is HORRIBLE! I was ignored when asking questions to several employees, The ones that did stop gave the wrong information or simply said they didn’t know and walked off. The store apparently keeps no logging of the location of overflow pallets so I along with several other customers spent 20 mins looking for an item the employees couldn’t locate since we were told it was in stock. The employee seems aggravated by the fact that we found it and he had to take it down. I spent another 40 mins at the register.. not in line.. at the actual register.. there was a issue with my clients payment due to incorrect weighing of one of my items.. the employee who weighed the item gave me the incorrect weight which inflicted the price with the real weight was used at the register. I told the girl at the register to give me a moment to let me client know.. to which she says nothing and walks away. It took a 1 min to correct the problem but took her 15-20 mins to return to the register. (With people behind me who left to get In another line.) another employee came to help who preceded to right up my order wrong again by not scanning all my items. I stated this to him to which he replies “so what do you want me to do about it?” And walks off. Another 10 mins passs before another employee inquires on why im standing around. This is also when the initial girl at the register shows up.. only to tell me that o haven’t paid for any of the items that I have a receipt for. How she would or would not know that is amazing considering she was missing for 20 mins. She then proceeds to say she is aggravated directly infront of someone I assume is a manager and I informed her that she shouldn’t be aggravated considering she hasn’t actually done anything and has been gone for 20 mins. The employee proceeds to start cussing infront of me and the other employee. The lady with the short hair was the ONLY professional in this entire store and the only one that provided assistance without issue.
