I recently tried Lampo2Go, a takeout-only pizza place. My experience was a mix of good and bad. I'm passionate about good food and more so a believer in the seemingly dying commitment to good service, so I wanted to share my thoughts on this experience. I'll be polite and honest to help both the restaurant and future customers.
Food Quality: The best thing I tried was the panouzzi polpettini. It looked great and tasted good, but it wasn't hot. This made a big difference because the cheese didn't melt, and the flavors weren't as strong as they could have been. It was disappointing because it could have been much better.
Service: The staff were friendly, but they forgot to give me napkins. This might seem small, but it shows that they weren't paying attention to details. I didn't say anything because I thought they should know to give napkins without being told.
Price: The sandwich cost over $18, which is a lot. I expected something great, but it wasn't worth the cost. The idea of Lampo2Go is interesting, but the food and service need to be better for the price.
Overall, Lampo2Go has potential, but it needs to improve. The idea of a takeout-only place is cool, but they need to make sure the food is hot, and they give customers what they need. I might go back, but only if...
Read moreHi Lampo Team,
Hope everyone is well! I’ve got some feedback from our recent visit this past Sunday that I wanted to share with you all. We’ve always been big fans of Lampo’s pizza, but our last order from the IX Park location left us a bit puzzled.
We ordered a Margherita and a Hellboy (with pepperoni instead) and noticed that the dough was undercooked, not like the perfect crust we’re used to from Lampo. It's not raw or cold, but warm and mushy. The crust is not crispy on the bottom which is your style, but this time the final product missed maybe longer cook time or hotter temperature.
Also, the hot honey was missing its usual spicy kick and was thicker than what we’ve enjoyed before.
Spending $44 and not getting the usual awesome Lampo experience was disappointing. We really hope that the quality at the IX Park location jumps back to what we know and love soon!
However, until we're sure the next time will be back to the top-notch Lampo standard, we might hold off on our next visit. We’re looking forward to seeing the awesome reviews roll in again and trying those perfect pizzas we miss.
Thanks for taking the time to read our thoughts, and we can’t wait to be...
Read morePros: Awesome olives appetizer, great red pizza sauce, fluffy crust. Margherita DOC was very good (skipped the olive oil). Neapolitan pizza done WELL! Cons: I am not sure these guys have ever googled what a Diavola pizza is or looks like. What we got for that was a super greasy pizza with ground sausage piles and cheese. Skip that and maybe see if their pepperoni pizza can do any better, or just go Margherita (or something else entirely).
Need to knows: One pizza really feeds about 1 person. Also, apparently, you need to ask for napkins to get them. We did not know that and got to use the pizza box/grass/canned water to try to clean up after taking our food to go for a picnic. Online ordering was...
