Charlottesville City Market — Local services in Charlottesville

This is an average farmer's market, certainly nothing special.

The real problem is with the garbage police the station at every single trash can. This isn't like your average recyclable and non-recyclable bins, it's like five different bins for an assortment of uses that, to this day, I could not explain the distinctions.

Every time I'm lectured for putting my plastic fork or paper cup or uneaten food in the wrong bin. I've had to watch the annoyed looks as they dig out my 3-year-old daughter's incorrectly recycled water bottle.

I recently visited Charlottesville City Market which was up the street from the Market at IX and had a delightful time. The market boasts a wide variety of vendors, from flower sellers and bread makers to coffee stands and trinket sellers. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, with something for everyone to enjoy. The fresh flowers and artisanal bread were particular highlights, and I loved browsing through the unique trinkets and enjoying a cup of lavender lemonade. I love this farmers market. There are so many vendors!

There was a jewelry vendor (I bought beautiful earrings from her) and a vendor who carved pens.

For food, there was a plethora of produce! Tomatoes, peppers, cuckes, breads and sweets. A woman who had olive oil, and coffee.

And, of course, flowers and plants.

All vendors had decent prices and were friendly. Parking was not easy to find, especially with a handicap. The other downfall is there isn’t any shade to cool off.
