I absolutely love loft but I had my worst experience ever in retail today here. Ended up in tears at the register. My husband stood outside of the fitting room while I tried on clothes to help me pick out appropriate work slacks and button downs. After I tried on I’d come out to see how he thought the fit was.(too long, too big, too snug, etc) Someone told a cashier that they were uncomfortable he was there. So the came back and told him and he politely left the fitting rooms and we profusely apologized. Then he’s standing in the clothes area by himself while I finished up in the dressing room and the women working the registers are going on and on about him. He was so uncomfortable he left the store and refused to come back in to help me find the right size in fits in my clothes. Then when I got to the register they said how everyone needs to be comfortable…. And Men come in with their wives all the time but because someone was specifically uncomfortable my husband had to leave. I can come to terms with that but then talk badly about him at the register and stare at him? I just cried at the register while I did my exchange and left. I am so disappointed for how they treated us in the store.
My husband just came to help me he had no desire to be in there. I’m just really upset with how it was handled. I just wanted some acknowledgment of it wasn’t right the way they treated us.
Update: just went to American eagle for my husband to try on jeans and they asked us if we wanted a fitting room...
Read moreI have been a longtime customer of Loft both online and in-store. Yesterday was by far my worst shopping experience with Loft and retail shopping in general. I went into your Charlottesville, VA location around 5:30 PM yesterday evening (12/26/22) to buy two pairs of corduroy pants I had seen online that were available in store. After searching for said pants with my husband for a few minutes, I approached the cashier to inquire about them as they showed being available in store online. As she started to walk me over to where these pants would be located, she was asked by the other three sales associates what size I was looking for. Almost in unison, they shouted back, we never carry that size instore in front me, my husband and every other customer in store. I have never felt more humiliated and isolated during a shopping trip as I did yesterday. Not only did everyone know what size I was, now they knew my size was too large to be carried in store. The sales associate showed me where all of the corduroy pants were, I found MY size in two pair and proceeded to the dressing rooms with tears in my eyes. I sat in the dressing room long enough to wipe my eyes and proceeded to purchase the pants as fast as I possibly could. I don't see myself returning to this location moving forward. No one should ever be made to feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable during a...
