This was a beautiful place great set up . For what should have been an amazing night . We drove 11 hours from NH to celebrate a birthday and one of our dear friends being in remission from Leukemia!!! Upon getting to our seats we found one of us did not fit in the seats . I was directed to a place by a very nice man although they said they couldn’t help me and sent me to the ticket booth . I told them about the situation and she said “ we’re not giving you 4 tickets “ I couldn’t hear what she was saying to the other ladies behind her cause I could barley hear her she said the best she could do would be to give me 2 tickets . So now we would be split in half . I said fine I will do what I have to ... mind you directly in front of our seats was folding chairs . Anyways she said I needed to show her all 4 tickets .. why ??? You only replacing 2 . I had 3 of them on me . Who knows why .. so I proceeded back to get the 4th ticket by which point I’m in tears . The lady helping seat people in our section was amazingly kind but there wasn’t much she could do but apologize. I brought her back the 4 tickets with tears in my ears . The fact that we were celebrating my friend being alive yet we couldn’t even sit together . Why was it such a big deal the lady behind the glass made it seem as if we were trying to get floor seats . We would of been more than happy to move anywhere where my still sick and hurting friend could sit if she needed to . Although most people seemed kind this lady ruined a night that we had looked forward to for awhile . After giving me the 2 tickets I went to walk away and before I could say anything she yelled out the microphone “ your welcome ! “ sorry lady had k mot been crying I may have been able to thank you faster . If you are plus size and or super tall be sure to ask about the seating before you go so you are not treated like your a scandalous person and you can enjoy your time with the people...
Read moreI have to write a review... A staff member refused me re-entry after the concert to HELP my cripple father. I couldn't hear because I was JUST at the concert, so the staff member pushes me and I fall to the ground. I plead to let me help my VERY crippled father, he accused me of being drunk (im not even 21) because i couldn't hear him
He shuts the door on me and i sit on the ground, just very upset... i wait, while 3 guys (staff) are just watching me lay on the ground for a few minutes. My cripple father makes it to the stairs (indoors) and the 3 staff members refused to help him so my dad had to crawl down backwards on the stairs while his cruches fall down the stairs.
They open the door and they guy who pushed me and accused me of being drunk said... "sorry". I open the door wider, just to let my father through
So What is wrong with this place and the people you hire... refused me to help my crippled father, refuse me to re-enter, pushed me into the ground, after assaulting me they insult me and accuses me of being druck, they refused to help my father or open the door to let me help my father down the stairs. The also showed guilt so they KNEW they were doing wrong
Theres no accuses, this is just a lot of problems. Dont go here if your handicap or have a love one who is handicap.
I just wented to get the vehicle so my cripple father didn't have to wait in the cold. Instead they forced me watch my father crawl down the stairs backwards...
Humiliating, painful, and the worst part... this had left a negative impact on my life.... i spent every waking moment of my WHOLE life helping my father... i try to think ahead to make his life as best as possible... i had to sit there while 3 guys watch me watch my father crawl down the stair in PAIN... so much pain... it hurt him with pain... but this will forever hurt...
Read moreMy husband and I visited John Paul Jones Arena to see TSO last night, December 12, 2019. We've been to several TSO & other concert events across the east coast at various locations and we've never seen a parking management disaster quite like the one we did at your Arena facility tonight. We ate dinner at Burton's Grill just a few miles north of the Arena and we left the restaurant promptly at 6:30 pm. We expected to have no problems getting into the Arena and into our seats by 7:30 pm given how close by we were to your facility. We were very, very wrong. It took us 1.5 hours to travel just a few miles and it was largely because there were no police directing traffic into the Arena or managing the Arena parking staff. We spoke to police who seemed very aware of the problem and said that we needed to file a complaint directly with UVA. They acknowledged that UVA would probably not care about our concerns and they said they were not sure why anyone would choose to attend an event at John Paul Jones Arena. The police said that they did not have enough paid staff through UVA to manage the traffic as it enters the arena. The Trans Siberian Orchestra announced that this was their first visit to Charlottesville and I suspect it may be their last. We were so very disappointed. We've never experienced this kind of mismanagement of traffic at any other venue. Very oddly, it did seem there was a valid plan by UVA to help guests exit the arena. We noticed far more police on our way out who were directing traffic. We left the event early given our poor experience getting into the facility. Honestly, I'm not sure what more I can say. There were alot of angry guests tonight and sadly,...
