As an avid shopper always on the hunt for the best deals without compromising on style, I've found a treasure trove in Uptown Cheapskate. This thrift store, with its unique buy, sell, and trade model, has consistently provided me with an array of high-quality, gently used clothing and accessories, all at a fraction of their original retail price.
One of the highlights of Uptown Cheapskate is its meticulous curation of items. Unlike traditional thrift stores where you might have to sift through piles to find one gem, Uptown Cheapskate feels more like a boutique shopping experience. Each item on their racks is in good condition, trendy, and in many cases, from sought-after brands that would typically stretch my budget at full price.
The organization of the store also adds to the shopping experience. Items are well categorized and easy to browse, making it simple to find what you're looking for—or to stumble upon an unexpected find. The store's aesthetic is inviting, with a layout that encourages leisurely exploration, something I particularly enjoy.
Price-wise, Uptown Cheapskate is hard to beat. The nature of second-hand shopping already ensures lower prices, but the store often runs sales and promotions that make the deals even sweeter. I've managed to snag designer pieces for less than half of what they would cost new, an aspect of Uptown Cheapskate that keeps me coming back.
Another factor contributing to my repeated good fortune is the ever-changing inventory. With new items arriving regularly, each visit offers a fresh selection. This dynamic turnover fuels the excitement of the hunt, as you never know what you might find on any given day.
In conclusion, Uptown Cheapskate has become my go-to destination for sustainable, stylish, and affordable fashion. It's not just the savings or the quality of the items that draw me in, but the overall shopping experience that the store provides. For anyone looking to enhance their wardrobe without breaking the bank, I cannot recommend Uptown Cheapskate highly enough. It's a place where fashion, affordability, and sustainability meet, proving that you don't have to sacrifice style...
Read moreI just find it super odd that the owner would delete my review not once but TWICE, but honestly not too surprising considering how my review was centered about the micro-aggressive behaviour of the employees. I am not surprised that the owner shares those same views rather than trying to correct this behaviour. Long story short, my partner and I came into the store as sellers with high hopes considering they had high ratings(spoiler, the owner/management deletes the bad reviews with explanations!). We were first time sellers with this CHAIN(I assumed it was a local business, my fault tbf), so inherently we did not know their process as every thrift/consignment store is different and I do not live relatively close to the area. Anyways, we were met immediately with a rude attitude from their employees who seemed irritated that we were asking them about the process. I've worked retail for 5+ years and sure I've had some bad days, but I've never been mean to my customer lol but maybe that's just me. Anyways, we then proceeded to wait over 2 hours to get an estimate value for my SINGULAR grocery bag of items only to be told of an um interesting "store policy" that those who leave the store will be put at the end of the queue. Mind you, I asked the workers there the about whole process when I first entered, but was told that I could either shop in-store or go out since they were pretty backed up. BUT, I was never told of this policy and when I told the worker there she blatantly lied in front of the whole crew and told me that she did in fact inform me before hand. My partner was there for the whole process and did in fact confirm that what she said was NOT true. But that's not even the cherry on top, the pricing is what gets me! I came in with ethnic items and luxury handbags that costed over $200 each, where they would offer me only $3-4 dollars per item. I get needing to make a profit but only paying around 2-20% for an UNUSED luxury item and then reselling it for an exorbitant price is a bit ridiculous. For my fellow sellers, I highly recommend selling to a local consignment shop or...
Read moreSad thing is I like the products and clothes. But the girls up front are literally awful. Everytime I’ve gone in there, which is frequent, they are very loud with how badly they speak about people and the clothes they bring In. Basically making fun of them the minute they walk out of the store or hold up the clothes in disgust. I’ve seen it probably 10 out of the 15 times I’ve gone in there. I get they might not in particular like certain clothes that others bringing. But it’s not just their style…….. I bought one of the items they passed on by a woman as she was walking out of the store. I stopped her and said omg is that a Chanel sweatshirt? She also had a Gucci belt. I just k kept thinking my god those kids in their don’t even know luxuary brands. They just think eh I wouldn’t wear it and throw it back in the bag. Little did they know they gave up on a 900 Chanel item as well as a 400 dollar Gucci belt. I’m like man how Sad…… the owner really needs to revaluate the people that work for them. Because the main girls that I always see there at the front are just not only inexperienced but lack manors, common decency and respect for anyone that comes in the store. Yesterday was my last time there. I saw a lady come in, drop off her bag, and the im guessing the girl at the counter thought the lady walked out, she pulled some items out and the ones she didn’t want she decided to say out loud mind you, “who the hell keeps bringing crap like this in” “like who the hell wears these”. I saw the woman tear up and put her head down and just put down some items she looked like she was going to either trade or purchase. I again, walked out right after she did and bough her entire bag. Human decency goes along way. Life is hard enough on people. Everyone should try to be more...
