PC P.I.'s is a role model for how a service business should be run!
Business these days is still about being able to do the job. But more importantly, it's about being able to trust the people that you work with to do the right thing! That is 100% the reason these guys have won my business for all computer needs.
I recently brought a PC to the folks at PC P.I.'s with a busted power supply and a failing CPU to get some data recovered.
I forgot to mention, I'm pretty good with computers, but not all that good when it comes to hardware configurations.
I asked the to transfer the data from the 1 TB HDD to the 2 TB SSD that was already active in the computer. The computer would boot up but it wouldn't let you do anything for the most part.
Either way, I desperately needed the data that was still on this computer to continue doing the work I needed to do.
This all leads to why these guys have my TRUST now.
It turned out that the data that I needed had already been was already on the SSD and it had just been partitioned into two drives when I had the boot drive replaced a while back. I was under the impression it was on the HDD.
There was some stuff on the HDD so they moved it to the SSD like asked but when I got there they immediately said something didn't seem right with what I asked them to do. It was just some old junk GoPro footage that they moved and couldn't see why I was so concerned with recovering the data.
After a little investigative work (10 min) we quickly realized what had happened and I just didn't see that the job was never needed in the first place.
Because the job wasn't needed in the first place they gave me my computer back and said have a nice day. I asked what I owed them, and got NOTHING as a response. I don't mean they didn't respond, he literally told me that there was no charge for the work that THEY DID DO. He just said you didn't need us to do anything, no charge.
I was happy to pay them for their time spent because of my oversight.
Other business owners should take this lesson to heart.
"If you worry more about doing what is right for your customer than you do your bank account, you'll never have to worry about your bank account in the first place!"
PC P.I.'s embodies that statement and is one place you should definitely take your computer when you need help!
Actually, you are screwing up if you take your stuff...
Read moreThey wouldnât let me buy a PC component unless I brought in my own PC to test it out first, the employee was nice about it but thatâs just really bad business
Response to owner: I understand if you are a repair store only, but I walked in and saw a collection of stuff that you are in fact âsellingâ and was refused service unless I let the employee install it himself, if thatâs the way you want to run the store then fine but it was a major disappointment to find the part I wanted and was refused the right to buy the part. I canât help but feel there is a better way to do business, perhaps inform the customer that there are no refunds unless you can prove it doesnât work? What if I donât own a computer and just wanted to buy a ram stick because I thought it looked cool? Thatâs like if GameStop would not let you buy a game unless you could prove you own an Xbox. Again the employee was cool about it, just seems like a policy brought upon by years of bad...
Read moreMy husband's work laptop suddenly stopped working for no reason. After checking online and seeing many places charging upwards $150 just to diagnose an issue, I decided to call PC P.I.s just to ask about their diagnosis fee. They do not charge to diagnose an issue, only to fix the issue. I dropped the laptop off on Thursday and was told it would likely be Monday before they knew what was wrong with it because he had many others in line before me. I was 100% fine with that. I received a call on Friday that the laptop was fixed and there would be no charge. Who doesn't charge for their time?! He didn't. I was extremely happy with their services and will use them again any time I need a computer fixed and I will recommend them to anyone who asks and even some that don't! Don't hesitate if you need a repair, this is the...
