I have done many breakout games with multiple companies and this location is pretty good! Staff was very pleasant, attentive, and knew what they were supposed to.
The 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the fact that the room itself (the official Hasbro Clue room) was okay at best.
Starting with the positives: the room was aesthetically pleasing and was mostly free of construction errors, the sound effects were interesting, and seeing the board game reinterpreted into an escape room was a cool experience!
For the negatives: The puzzles relied too heavily on RFID (or other non mechanical) tech. This led to multiple instances where sound queues or other required effects didn't trigger properly. Some of the puzzles were also FAR too open ended. My team had a puzzle finished for close to 6 minutes but didn't have it orientated correctly despite there being no clear demarcation for directionality. Most egregiously, one of the switches for a puzzle simply did NOT work! I managed to fix it (the pawn in the kitchen) but it was extremely frustrating that we were stuck due to technical errors.
Overall, I didn't enjoy the room itself but the staff made it much better! I will likely return to this location...
Read moreAbsolutely harrowing. My friends and I came within about 9 minutes of losing our lives in a volcanic eruption 🌋 -- an absolute geological detonation! I watched an island dissappear today😢. The catastrophe was detected on seismometers across the region 📈 We escaped with our lives after a panicked mad dash to overcome a myriad of challenges. We commandeered an abandoned vessel. Used to stars to navigate to safer shores. I could write a book about my vacation from h*ll and the absolute grit and determination it took just to not die. Maybe I will. Tho we can't take all the credit. We did have help from on high. Maybe angelic? Not sure. But when things went really sideways, and we were surely going to be smothered in smoke or cooked and preserved like a Pompeiian in a pyroclastic flow, Sierra stepped in from above to adjust reality (adjust literal reality. Not provide hints. Tho she surely could have)
For real tho. Breakout games was worth the trip. Excellent escape room....
Read moreI have done quite a few rooms here with a lot of game masters and been pretty impressed. Today, doing "Do Not Disturb", our group was really underwhelmed. There were several things in the room you would never figure out without assistance (and several items that were broken or did not work properly) and our game master was continually telling us what to do without us asking or approving the assistance. She said several times that she had been there all day and was tired and I have no doubt she was giving us extra assistance to try to get us out faster so she could go home. She was nice, so I feel for her, but come on. She even said that while our time beat the record we had "4 or 5 hints" so we weren't eligible, despite that we only ever approved 1, and never outright asked for one. Not sure I would do a room with her as game master, and I definitely wouldn't recommend "do not disturb", but the rest of the rooms have impressed enough that we probably will be back to...
