I would like to describe my unfortunate experience today at the Chelmsford market basket on Chelmsford st. First and foremost my cashier was very pleasant . I checked out at register 11 and the cashiers name was Lucas . He was very nice and very welcoming. Sadly this review has a com and itâs very significant. The bagger that worked with Lucas had sunglasses on so eye contact with customers wasnât a thing . When I finally checked out Lucas handed me my receipt and wished me a good rest of my day as i did the same. I also thanked the bagger as i always do and he said nothing back. At that point i wondered why he didnât say anything back but i continued on .My sister was in front of me checking out then she left to put the bags in my car . It wasnât till i got in my car I learned He didnât say a word to both me or my sister who i brought to go shopping . The fact that she shared the same thoughts had me turning back to look and realized that he was engaging with the customer who was behind me . During these trying times it pains me to think that his actions were deliberate. Iâm not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that my sister and I are minorities and the gentleman behind me was white that we were given two different experiences. This led me to believe that this was on purpose. I canât imagine how many others go through it but itâs my job to call this out to ensure that something can be done or at the very least this encounter is noted . Why was this man wearing sunglasses while working in customer service ? I thought the rule of thumb was eye contact ? What was he hiding ? Why couldnât he greet his customers? Why couldnât he say your welcome when the customer says thank you ? What is going on ? Why should customers feel worried about the people servicing them at a store ? This happened around 1130 am today at register 11 . I didnât see his name but i admired the greeting Lucas gave me and so i remembered his name. Thank you Lucas for such wonderful service it helps so much especially when dealing with unpleasant people such as the one bagged for you! Iâm grateful that did not stop you from doing your job and making the customer feel welcomed. As for the man with the dark sunglasses đ¶ on , he should not be working in customer service ! I will be shopping at a different location...
Read moreOn 9/12/24 I had purchased their premade soup, the New England clam chowder or so it says on the label. On the label it said that it was New England clam chowder but when I got all the way back home and went to eat it, the soup turned out to be haddock chowder instead because there was nothing but fish pieces in it. So I called and they had to transfer me a few times because no one at the Marketâs Kitchen would pick up. Now thatâs not the part that Iâm frustrated with aside from purchasing a soup that says one thing but turns to be something else..so the phone waiting for about 10 minutes didnât bother me because I used to work at a market kitchen and can understand how busy it can get. Anyhow finally a lady comes on the phone and I explained to her what had happened and she kind of just was nonchalant about it like âoh okay they mustâve put on the wrong label when I told them to mark itâ so I said to her âokay itâs not a big of a deal but I thought you should know and also itâs kind of frustrating that I had to eat what I didnât initially intend to buyâ and she says âumm ohh yeah okay thank youâ and then starts giggling. I was like okay yeah bye. She obviously didnât give a crap I get it. But come to think of it she didnât apologize or anything, I get that it wasnât her that put the label but as an employee she should at the very least be professional and not think something like this is funny. Youâre supposed to be representing your company as whole, no? I mean what if I was allergic to fish or didnât eat fish is just an example. Another example is like you go to buy a burger and they give you a pizza. Does that make any sense? Of course not! All Iâm saying is when someone purchase something they obviously want the item/food that they paid for not something else and to top it off when thereâs an ignorant employee like her along with the inconvenience too itâs all just...
Read moreOh my! Where to start? The prices are good but not to the level many others hype it up to be. Lately, Stop & Shop has been having more and more items that they beat MB on price on and you can't forget that S&S's instant savings and bonus gas point deals beat MB sale prices by far even if you just fill up one car with 12 gallons (but its all the better if you can fill up multiple cars and go to the 35 gal limit on your transaction. Why? First of all, there are frequent enough stocking issues which makes you buy a substitute product or go somewhere else to buy what you need. The store brand does not cater to someone that wants to shop healthy. For example, if you want a wheat cracker without soy in it (soy slows your thyroid down and reduces energy), be prepared to pay $3.49 for a 8 oz box b/c you have to buy the national brand; at Stop & Shop across the street they do have a store brand going for $2.39 for 7 oz. Sure, there is raw store brand nuts as well but pricing is rather high vs Trader Joe's. Service here can be troublesome at times. I came in with a good stack of coupons once to have em all rejected, and Stop and Shop accepted all coupons, and the calculated total was actually less than what I would have paid at Market Basket thanks to double coupons. Checkout lines can make this store tough to...
