Hope to get a dream smile. Got a straight-up nightmare experience.

I made a consultation appt with Dr. Tabitha Barnabei at My Orthodontic to get my teeth straightened for my wedding. I don't have the best teeth but saw all the positive reviews and was super hopeful she could help.

My first visit was great! Initially, she seemed knowledgable, and wanted to help me. Again, I was hopeful and excited to get started!

Then things got very bad, very quickly.

Long story short, I jumped through a lot of hoops to meet her requirements.....plus time coordinating with my general dentist and my periodontist to help make a plan. Oh, and I even changed insurance plans and paid more in premium to see Dr. Barnabei because My Orthodontic didn't take my insurance!

What. A. Nightmare.

After paying more money to charge my insurance and took a lot of time to get all of paperworks from my general dentist and my periodontist as Dr. Barnabei's request. Then, her assistant told me I can make appointment and start the treatment with her.

When the day the treatment was supposed to start...I got...nothing. NOTHING.

Dr. Barnabei told me she can't start my treatment. I needed get more stuff from my general dentist. And she wanted to discuss with my general dentist even before starting my treatment. WTH! I thought. I spent a lot time to get a signed attestation paper from my gereral dentist and periodontist. Now, she NEEDED more. Why didn't she tell me this in the 1st appointment with her?

Ok! I needed straight teeth, and time was running out before my wedding. So I called my family general dentist and was able to make appointment with him and give her his information so she can collaborate with him to start my treatment.

Again, I followed all of her instructions and tried to meet her request because I trusted her.

Then when I left the office.... I got an EMAIL saying that she wouldn't do the treatment. I couldn't be her patient. No explaination at all! WTAF?!?

Now I'm out a lot of time and $$$, and don't know if I'll even be able to confidently smile on my wedding day. I'm devastated and feel lost.

Don't be like me. Just...avoid this place and this doctor.... If I could give 0 stars I would. If I could turn back time, I would not have made that first appointment.

I trusted Dr. Tabitha Barnabei, but she betrayed my trust.

Is she incompetent? Maybe. Irresponsible? Maybe. Racist? Possibly (me and gerenal dentist who I gave info to her are not caucasian). Major waster of customer's time and...

I refuse to have my daughter receive any oral care from this office. The staff member, Lauren (could be mistaken for Laura), was very rude and made it painfully obvious she did not like anyone from a hispanic descent. She called my daughter for x-rays, and at some point, was giving my daughter instructions. Lauren was standing in front of a machine that was apparently on and making noise, my daughter, is hard at hearing, did not hear her, therefore did not understand the request Lauren was making. My daughter asked Lauren to repeat the question to which Lauren replied, ''how hard is it for you to understand?" then repeated the question. As I was in the waiting room, I had no idea that had occurred until my daughter and I got back into our vehicle. Lauren sent my daughter to find me so that we may go into the examination room. Lauren then asked my questions about my daughters' history. She seemed anxious, and was very short, and hurried. It was obvious she did not want to be in that room with us. She made my daughter and myself very uncomfortable. My daughter has asked me not to take her to My Orthodontist, Cherry Hill ever again, due to Lauren making the visit so ghastly. I left a message for the office manager and have yet to receive a reply. This action alone assures me that they condone Lauren's behavior and rudeness. Working in any public sector, you must be aware that there are many different kinds of people. My experience with My Orthodontist at the Cherry Hill location has been phenomenal . My daughter sees Dr Barnabei and she is amazing . She asks all the time do I have any questions and she explains what she is going to do and what is upcoming .Which as a parent with a 11 year old I enjoy being informed about my child pre orthodontist treatment . Even the dental assistant that usually attends to my daughter is also amazing . She explains things , asks if I have any questions and is so very kind and polite . I enjoy the Cherry Hill location , and although it’s a 30 min drive each way for each appointment the way we are treated is worth the drive ! I recommend My Orthodontist Cherry Hill location to anyone ! I really enjoy being called rather quick , the wait times are not so long ! Even the front desk staff are kind and polite . As a consumer it means a lot to go to a place that both my child and I feel comfortable and welcomed ! My daughter just had her too braces placed today and her expanders taken out . She is so happy ! The dental assistant took time and answered any questions I had ! My daughter really enjoys the dental assistant ! She is so kind and polite ! Even front desk staff are kind , courteous , and efficient !
