Unreliable delivery date, multiple delivery date delays, inconsistent communication. Do not recommend purchasing anything you can’t take with you the same day. (More details below)
I purchased a sectional during the Labor Day sale (September 1) at the Western Branch location. When I had chosen a sectional, the sales representative made it seem like it would be available immediately. Once she had all my information she said it would not be available until Saturday September 14th. At this point, I’m a little bummed I can’t have it sooner, but not upset and decided to proceed with the purchase. I paid in full on September 1st. She say I would get a call 4 days in prior to delivery to verify the address, again 1 day before delivery to reverify the address and provide a 4 hour window for delivery, and again 1 hour prior to arrival on the day of. I got a call 4 days prior to the 14th to verify the address. I then received a call 2 days before expected delivery to inform me that delivery had been delayed to the 28th at the earliest. This was frustrating as I had company coming in that weekend to stay with me. I was told that there was nothing that could be done to speed up the delivery and just had to accept the delay. I called the afternoon of September 24th to verify all was in order to receive the sectional on the 28th. She looked in the system and said everything was in order. I received a call on the 26th where they said the delivery to the warehouse had been postponed to Saturday and the earliest I could get the furniture was now Monday the 30th. I was very frustrated and requested to get it Sunday since they would have it Saturday. This was denied saying they couldn’t deliver on Sunday. I asked if they could then deliver during the afternoon on Monday so I wouldn’t have to take time off work. That was denied and they said they contract out delivery and you won’t know when they are going to drop it off until the day before with the 4 hour window call. I said that if they couldn’t schedule a time after 3pm during the week I couldn’t be there to receive it. They then asked if I wanted Saturday or Sunday of the following weekend. I said Saturday and they said the sales rep would give me a call and offer a small reimbursement for the delay of delivery. I never got a call from the sales rep or reimbursement of any kind. I received multiple texts and calls to set the 4 hour window to be on Saturday the 5th between 1:30pm and 5:30pm and to say I would receive a call approximately 1 hour prior to arrival. I was away on the way home from seeing some friends and was going to get back at 1:15pm. Which was 15 minutes prior to the earliest they should arrive. On my way home I received a text message at 1pm saying the delivery would arrive in 10 minutes. Luckily my boyfriend was only 5 minutes from the house and was able to head over. When he got there they were already there about to knock on the door. We finally got the sectional, but the entire process was a mess. Grand Furniture is the most unreliable business I...
Read moreOn 2 Feb 2020 I purchased a couch and loveseat from Grand Furniture in Virginia Beach. I told them at the time of purchase I needed something durable because I had a large dog that would be sleeping on it and I myself am a large person. The items the sales associate helped us pick out was supposed to be a high quality leather set that she promised was the beat they sell. She also told me if I buy the extended 5 year warranty that will cover me no matter what for years to come. I bought the set and the warranty. Less than 30 days later both the couch and loveseat started coming apart in the corners. Stitches and fabric both tearing. It was not leather at all but a very thin and cheap man made material. When I contacted Grand about the damage their response was we don’t cover damage that may or may not have been caused by your dog. First of all I sent them pictures showing the damage and in no way could the location of the tears be caused by an animal clawing or digging, secondly not only did the sale associate literally say the warranty even covers pet damage but there is no mention at all in the paperwork I received that day that has any pet stipulations. Grand Furniture told me sorry about your luck. You still owe us over $2000 for torn furniture. But they did offer me a $200 gift certificate. I don’t recommend anyone to shop with Grand Furniture. The products are cheap and poorly made but what’s worse is they don’t stand behind their products at all and actually lie to your face to get you...
Read moreI’m never the type to complain and I mean ever but this is a whole different story. I’m livid!!! I bought my furniture on March 1st!!!! I still do not have it my first attempt to pick up my furniture they advised me to go to the store I purchased my furniture at and I got there it took the girl 30 minutes to tell me it was the wrong store then send me to another store!!!!!! So I get there it took them almost a freaking hour to tell me I needed to go to the warehouse and by the time I even attempted to get back in the car they told me that they were closed. My 2nd attempt I tried to get one of the “3rd party” delivery drivers to help me which he was willing too but he said I needed the release form which I had and had to text it to him which I could and I was at work so I texted it then it turned into I had to go to the location to sign it which didn’t make sense because when I purchased it I was told I just had to send someone the picture. Finally my third last attempt I get my bestfriend to go up there to the store I was told to go to and they don’t do deliveries past 3 which I thought was freaking 630 but I guess that changed I’m literally livid at this place and I will be getting my money back and going elsewhere. Most unprofessional disrespectful inconvenient services I ever received horrible communication employees were very nice but all they did was blame the next employee instead of just handling it never...
