I have serious concerns about my visit to this location on 9/4/18. First, I was in the drive thru lane for 14 minutes and there was one car ahead of me. The reason became clear when the employee taking my order was unable to enter it correctly. I wanted a hamburger (no cheese) with lettuce and onion only. The last thing I wanted after a 15 minute wait was to get the wrong order and wait another 15 minutes, so before I paid I again said “I don’t want cheese on my burger” and the employee assured me my order would be correct. Of course, it DID have cheese so I went up and knock on the glass. That’s when I understood why this business was not running properly. The manager on duty was clearly not engaged with his employees and there were 3 at the window and another 3 in the back. Six people and a 15 minute wait? Then I observed the cook put food-handling gloves on, use a spatula, then remove his gloves and press the patties down with his hand. Later, another ‘cook’ did a similar thing. She worked the spatula with the gloves on, then removes them to grab the buns with her bare hands. I was standing at the window for 7 minutes, and I saw these employees using their hands for all manner of things, then put the gloves on the use a spatula, then remove them to prepare food. I had seen enough. I leaned around to ask the cashier (who ignored me) “why would she take her gloves OFF to make our food?” I got no response. I left without my food and didn’t get a refund. I don’t care. Let the VA Dept. of Health sort this one out. I know better than to ever go back here.

Placed a mobile order at 2:17. Did not receive our two drinks (only thing we ordered) until 2:55. Waited at our stall for 20 minutes as we saw four cars that came after us get helped in the drive thru. Decided to go to the drive thru only for them to tell us they don’t have our order. I had the order on my phone so they told us to pull around. Continued to wait while the car behind us still received their drink/assistance before us. Only two people working it looked like. Don’t accept mobile orders if there isn’t enough staff to help. The employer is making his employees jobs harder than it needs to be. Adding that when we finished our drinks there was something that wasn’t supposed to be there in it. Hopefully it’s Oreo filling and not something else 🥴

According to this Sonic, this is an acceptable way to hand someone their food. Neverminded they said I had a "large" order and it took them almost 25 minutes to bring it out. I ordered med onion rings, med popcorn chicken, Coney foot long, and 1 soft pretzel. That is in no way a large order and the man 2 cars in front of me ordered at least 4 bags of food and still didn't wait as long as I did. There is BBQ sauce running down the inside of my bag and all over my other food!

The service is horrible unless certain employees are there. I have ALWAYS purchased ice but have been buying Sonic ice for at least the past 4 years. They NEVER have ice and when they do the staff is never on one accord. On more than one occasion an employee has told me they weren't selling bags of ice until after 5pm or not at all-in the summer of all seasons-and then a totally different employee will follow right behind and say that there IS in fact ice for sell. Many times I am told that enough ice was not prepared or made overnight. This dumbfounds me. Why does Sonic sell ice for a fixed price-not cheap either-if it is not available over 50% of the time? Surely ice is considered a menu item if it makes a profit. I have often had to travel additional miles to a different, more consistent and customer-friendly Sonic just to get ice-nothing more. Frequently I am forced to order a 1-2 extra large cups of ice in lieu of the usual 3 bags I purchase at a time! One time after purchasing an extra large cup I was told that bags of ice were available for sale. I was mortified when an employee from the back came outside of the work area to my car and told me to return the"complimentary" ice that was given to me for the mix-up because I didn't pay for it. I COULD NOT believe it and came near pieces to cursing. What were they going to do with the returned ice? Recycle it? I couldn't believe the employee was that concerned and invested in the situation. She was very bold and even shrugged her shoulder and stated that she was just doing her job. The Western Branch Blvd. Sonic is the WORST EVER. They need a COMPLETE overhaul-minus a few token employees...

It took way too long for my order to get to me. There were a few cars the parking lot, my family and I were the only ones on the patio. When we pressed the button, nobody inside decided to answer us. A man working carhop outside ran in to answer it. We ordered 3 cream slushies, a shake and an ice cream dish with oreo. We placed our order at 7:33pm, the person who made the order clicked it off screen at 7:41pm. We did not get the drinks until 7:52pm. Our drinks were sitting on the counter the whole time. We can see right inside the place. The only reason we even got the drinks when we did is because my husband said something to a man that came outside with nothing in his hands but sauce for a vehicle. You have a tray, that can carry more than just sauce. Bring 3 orders out at a time, remember where you're going, keep a little bit of change on you, learn to do math in your head, and put the sauce on the side. It's not that hard to do. I did it for years. The man who finally gave us our drinks was the same man who ran inside to answer us when we ordered. I think he was the manager, he was wearing all black and apologetic. I did not catch his name, but I want to thank him for trying. He was the only one I seen doing anything. I used to be a manager at Sonic, I know how the restaurant works. All I can say, is that whomever is in charge of that particular Sonic, needs to reevaluate who is running the establishment at night. Because they are going to run the restaurant...
