Before our trip to Indiana I typed "shops in Chesterton" into Google. Yesterday's Treasures popped up and I KNEW I had to visit. It's EXACTLY like the pictures and at the same time the pictures don't do it justice. You can't hear the wonderful creaky floors or smell the wonderful vintage-y smells or share the experience with like-minded people, whether they be other shoppers, vendors working in their booths, or employees. ...and I certainly wasn't the only one singing along to the '60's and '70's music. What an awesome experience! You simply MUST treat yourself! My one suggestion would be to, if you can, plan on spending a good amount of time... go around the place in one direction, then when you get to where you started, go back again in the other direction and you will certainly find things you missed the first time around. Then go upstairs and do it again. You might want to pack a lunch. 😂😂 I'll tell you what I told the ladies at the counter when I made my purchases... When I move to Chesterton in a year I'm coming back with a truck!! Yesterday's Treasures was the highlight of my week in Indiana!! Thank you, ladies...
Read moreSuch a great store! The store is divided into booths with many different owners displaying goods for sale, so there is something for everyone. Lots of records and record players, old books, a moose head, vintage clothing and furniture, antique tools, electronics, kitchen wear, antique toys, old workshop benches, everything! It had several items that were my taste (rustic, industrial) as opposed to a store full of ceramics and knickknacks, although there were lots of those too. Some booths had refinished items with a Chip and JoAnna Gains vibe. There is an upstairs and a main level. This store is the perfect place to kill a rainy day. With huge storefront windows, there was great natural lighting for a bright, clean, organized store. Fun fact- the bathroom is so very small, but it has to be the cutest, most boutique restroom I...
Read moreYesterday’s Treasures is a 2 story antique/thrift store located in Chesterton, Indiana.
Limited parking is available in front of the store-I parked across the street which I hope is OK.
There are stairs to second floor. There is a freight elevator which could be used for accommodation but I did not ask. Aisles are wide and booths are well organized.
The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. They offer a free cup of coffee or tea to shoppers. The restroom is accessible and clean.
Booths contain everything from vintage clothing and furniture, new and used items and antiques, glassware, sports and modern collectibles, jewelry and everything in between. Prices are very reasonable.
This store is very close to Indiana Dunes and Dune Acres. It’s a fun way to pass some time and wait for that special item “to...
