Within the last 12 months, I have booked two round trip flights in and out of Cheyenne with connecting flights in Denver. The first was in May 2024, during which my flight from Denver to Cheyenne was delayed by 12 hours (from 7 pm to 7 am) for mechanical issues, and I was not notified until I had arrived into Denver from my connecting flight. Now, in February 2025 I booked another flight and the outgoing flight from Cheyenne to Denver was delayed by 10 hours (6 am to 4 pm) also due to "mechanical issues". Why we have an airport in Cheyenne is becoming a joke. Not only are the delays absurd, but the timeliness and transparency of communication from United is extremely unprofessional. They didn't notify me about these delays until a few hours before the flight was supposed to leave, and only sent updates of subsequent delays within half an hour before boarding time, which then ensures that connecting flights in Denver are going to be missed. I don't know if these issues are consistent, or if I've just gotten unlucky, but these experiences will deter me from flying out of Cheyenne Regional for the...
Read moreEnjoyable user friendly airport with two commercial passenger flights per day (United, both to Denver). On our fun trip to watch Georgia Tech beat Colorado in Boulder, we arrived and departed here by choice in order to add some cheap flight segments for our United Mileage Plus program status requalification, and to spend a half day visiting pleasant Cheyenne. We’re happy we did, Cheyenne is fun and it’s easy to hop on I-25 and head down to Boulder, not really a lot more driving than the Denver alternative. This airport currently has one gate, one bar and restaurant, one baggage carousel, and seemingly one staffed rental car company counter (Avis, there is an Enterprise counter but not staffed and could not book an Enterprise car at airport). All great with us! TSA staff opens up specific to flight departure times (fine). Decorated with art for sale like the good ol’ days. Free self serve Keurig coffee inside security at the boarding gate acts as the United Club. 😀 Your feet are the train to the rental car center a.k.a. a close in part of the parking lot up a 3’ high “hill.” What...
Read moreGreat little airport in Cheyenne friendly staff and TSA . The new flights out of Cheyenne are a quick flight (1 hour 35 minutes) on a CRJ 200 operated by Skywest (american eagle) to the major Dallas-Ft. Worth International airport. After arriving at DFW you will have to ride the sky tram when catching a connecting flight but it is quick and quite scenic. I arrived at E terminal and my connection was in the A terminal which took about 15 minutes on the Skylink tram. Utilizing the Skylink keeps you in the secure area so you will not have to go through additional TSA checks going from terminal...
