I visited this store on Saturday 10/12/2024 around 4:45pm with mom and had the most disappointing experience. I was there with the intention of purchasing 4 things (the Mongolian accent chair & stool, Avalon bar cabinet, and acacia floor lamp) for my new apartment and left empty handed. When I first entered the store, I walked past 2 associates, an older man and woman, talking who clearly worked at the store. They both looked at my mother and I and back at each other to finish their conversation. I did, in fact, need assistance. A woman walked in after my mom and I and she was immediately greeted by the 2 of them. We did notice this but continued around the back of the store until we reached the other side on Halsted where 2 younger men were standing. Again, they looked at us, and back at each other and said nothing to us to continue their conversation. My mom and I felt extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. My mom then proceeded to leave the store and go to the car. As I walked to the counter there were 2-3 different associates at the register assisting clients and the older woman from earlier magically appeared in front of me to ask if I needed anything. I asked for the store managers card and left. This was an extremely disappointing experience to have at your store as I went to Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, and West Elm right after and had such great help with making purchases for my new apartment. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of service and what I assume to be bias from this stores employees. When I purchased my kitchen island and chairs a few years ago, this was not my experience. I'm sure any sort of bias or discrimination is not welcomed by the company, at large, however it is prevalent in...
Read moreBuyer beware. The poor quality of CB2's products is not worth the heartache. I've had numerous product quality issues but the most recent one has provoked this negative review. See photos. We received a replacement table last year from CB2 b/c of quality issues with new directions on how to care for it. Over the winter we stored it as suggested, clean with the cover purchased from CB2. This spring, about 4 weeks ago we uncovered it to find the top wood was peeling, the table was in worse condition than the one replaced. I contacted CB2, we've gotten the runaround. This week they finally got back to me with their solution...
From CB2: You can return the Artemis Rectangle Dining Table, but there would be a 25% usage fee. Then once it checks back into the warehouse, the remaining credit will go onto a shop card (of this can be emailed to you, as well).
You can keep the table as a final sale with a discount of an additional 15% off. You originally had 15% off when you placed the order. This credit would go back onto the original form of payment. Accepting a final sale, however, would void the warranty. This means the item may not be returned nor exchanged and it is ineligible for any future part replacements or repairs.
Me: I can't purchase another table with the store credit amount and given all the product issues I'm not sure I want to.
15% back and a voided warranty? Where is the warranty now? I'd like the table fixed.
Conclusion: Don't waste your money at CB2. The quality is on par with Ikea, maybe worse in my experience, not worth the price point nor the time and energy to...
Read moreI have had MULTIPLE issues with my order, overall. I had placed a pretty substantial order for my wine bar. Our entire order was placed, processed and paid for in one transaction. To ensure timely delivery we opted to pay extra for expedited shipping, with a guaranteed delivery of four or five business days.
Well, it’s been over TWO WEEKS and bits and pieces of my order keep being delivered. Some packages have an inappropriate wrap job and pieces are arriving broken. My order was separated and delivery is erratic. Delivery is LATE and some of the pieces aren’t as nice as they looked online (ie dark finished teak wood serving boards). I now have to fight to return all of my broken dishes since I cannot take them to the Chicago store location because they aren’t open. I open in less than a week and now need to find solutions for my missing, broken or inadequate dishes.
The worst part is that we cannot call your customer service department to resolve any of this. We called once and sat on hold for TWO HOURS. We hung up. We opted to try to contact customer service via email TWO WEEKS ago... no reply.
I truly wish we had gone with another avenue for our serving pieces. I would NEVER recommend to anybody that they order from cb2 online. This has been BEYOND disappointing and not a needed extra stress during an already difficult time. Thank you...
