I ordered delivery $55.00 today 1/15/2016 and once again it's wrong. I spoke with the owner and was treated like a tostada food bandit. I order here on a frequent basis they always get my order wrong always blaming me the customer where is there customer service skills it puts me to wonder. The owner was so angry and irate with me he obviously did not care to hear me he was convinced without hesitation I was wrong. He demanded all his food back well I told him they ate it that the only food missing was mine that I would gladly return it to him. All I wanted was my 2 tostada plain and my guacamole with no cheese on it or cream because of my allergies so simple. The driver came for the wrong food and swaps it for more food except for that nasty discusting tortilla soup that was thrown in the garbage because it was not ettible. Long story short I told the owner I'm not looking for free food or a free handout I just spent $55.00 on a delivery order all I'm asking for is my food everyone else ate. He then told me I can no longer have food from Tecatetlan also I can walk in or sit in and order that way. I was never so humiliated being a paying customer mind you $55.00 he needs to take a class on how to treat his customers this is probably the reason why he can't fill his restaurant up. One should never feel they can belittle a paying customer because the Consiquences can be severe many people are looking for places to eat your one of many I hope my experience serves to benifit someone out looking for a great place to eat and be treated this Tecatetlan is not the place for there bad food, there service and the respect well they give you none. I had no choice but to put one star meaning "HATED IT" but truly having experienced such horrible treatment today from the owner of Tecatetlan it takes a toll on how people think the can treat others. Don't eat here take your...
Read moreExcited to be back in Chicago for the air and water show and visiting family for the weekend. My husband and I were thrilled to try this restaurant over the weekend, but our experience was far from satisfactory. The food was delicious, but our overall first-time dining experience was a complete letdown. From the moment we sat down to the time we paid the bill, it was a total disappointment.
Despite being a busy Saturday brunch, the restaurant only had two servers. Our server, Francisco, took an eternity to acknowledge us, and even when he did, he never apologized for the long wait. When he finally arrived at our table, he immediately asked if we were ready to order, which we werenât. As first-time diners, we inquired about specials, but he rudely declined our request. As we tried to ask more questions, he seemed annoyed and appeared disinterested in serving us.
We finally placed our order, but the time it took for our drinks to arrive was longer than the time it took for our food. We noticed that the server was preparing our drinks as well as the other tables, which we found odd. There was a gentleman at the bar who seemed to be some kind of manager, but his assistance to his employees was lacking. The server didnât come back to check on us after we received our food because he was busy behind the bar preparing drinks. When he finally did, he simply dropped off the check and didnât even clear our table.
We were deeply disappointed with our first-time experience and will definitely not be returning. We wouldnât recommend this...
Read moreBeautiful evening celebrating my husband's birthday!!
We drove from Streamwood, Il because it was my husband birthday, and we were from Chicago and used to enjoy eating at this place many times when the location was by Chicago Avenue!
We were disappointed ... We totally found the menu changed??? and all our favorite dishes gone???? It was a little disappointing....as we drove to find those delicious plates we used to eat once upon a long time ago!!
The food was good, the atmosphere was sad...what happened to the music, the customs you once had???? That's want to make us want to come back out of all the restaurants in Chicago we could have gone to! We were just heartbroken!!! It used to b so alive and festive!!!! Why the change??? Because it's in a different area?? What happened to keeping your culture alive???
The guava flan was different and unique and very tasty, I would have preferred it a little sweeter or a few pieces of guave on top to present the uniqueness of it!! By the way, we asked for a coco flan, and they gave him a vanilla flan... but we didn't want to waste the flan... so he just ate it.
By the way...my husband did not even get acknowledged that it was his birthday...as I told the young lady as I walked in...we r here to celebrate my husband birthday! ( Not even Happy Birthday... Most restaurants give a free dessert and say Happy Birthday, what happened here???)
Definitely, some things need to change in serving your latino-hispanic community the way...
