The Griffin Halls of Evolving Planet is my favorite exhibit in all of the Field Museum! These galleries cover the history of life of Earth in astonishing detail, from the origins of Earth, through the age of the dinosaurs, and concluding at the tragic present day sixth extinction. Additionally, this exhibit displays a plethora of well preserved, thoroughly unearthed fossils from every prehistoric era. Among some of the most fascinating fossilized specimens include an extensive collection of Cambrian Trilobites, Mazon Creek fossils, Sue the T. Rex, fish and reptile fossils from the Green River formation, and massive prehistoric mammals from the ice ages.
However, a thrilling expansion was recently made to Evolving Planet… an authentic, well preserved, masterfully unearthed Archaeopteryx!!! Rex)! The quality of the Field Museum’s Evolving Planet exhibit just vastly improved thanks to this small, but breathtaking, mind-blowing, awe-inspiring...
