Had a 1230 reservation on a Saturday and came 30 minutes early like they tell you to but that basically wastes and hour of your beach time because we didn't get on the jet ski until 1255. They had us fill out the regular liability forms and told us to come back in 20 minutes. Walked back to the beach and came back at 1220. They told us they are not ready yet and to come back at 1230. Mind you it's over 90 degrees outside and were made to stand out there and wait on them. Than we were told to pick out our life vests until they gather a group of 6 other couples. Finally we walked over to the jet skis where we wait some more🤦. Went through a safety speech and were told not to go north of the tower we were by and not to go south beyond a red roof building that was on the beach. So basically they have 2 other employees out there with you watching you ride the jet ski and you're limited to a what I consider a small area where you can ride. I also don't believe the ride was 30 minutes because they take the last 5 minutes to tell you to go back and park the jet skis where they have another group waiting. The jetskis were alright and the great thing is it's conveniently located at North ave beach with bathrooms near by. You can also leave your items with them at the check in cabin. It was fun but a lot of waiting around for nothing. My suggestion, come exactly at your...
Read moreUnderstand that weather permits being able to ride jet skis. I set up an appointment yesterday (there was a beach statement warning the night before through the end of Saturday) and I thought maybe they’d call to cancel. They want you to be there early so the three of us got our suits on to head there. We were almost there (20 minutes before scheduled time) and they called saying they have to cancel because it’s not safe. Planned our entire day Sunday around moving jet skis to Sunday at 1:30. No beach statement but windy conditions. I again thought maybe they would call but they didn’t. Again changed into our suit and headed there only ti get s call saying it’s too windy and we’re closing. I then said you could’ve called ten minutes earlier for the second time and he got aggressive on the phone saying “ma’am ma’am ma’am this is how the weather works it’s changes quickly and my boss made the call had nothing to do with me” then asked if I wanted to reschedule again. Why would I do that??? Lol waste of time and money. Refunded me after but would not recommend this place due to poor communication and clearly not respecting people’s time. Go to the one of three others...
Read moreUnsafe operator. On Sunday August 31, we were anchored off of Montrose beach. The waver runners the park district provides a license to operate there informed us that we were in their lane (we were in open water) and that we would be "buzzed" all day if we chose to remain. They then proceeded to circle our boat, and led their patrons to do the same as they passed us. This is an illegal an unsafe boating practice regardless of the location. Instructing new mariners to behave in the same reckless manor is completely irresponsible. For the paddle boarders and kayakers operating form the same beach, it was especially hazardous. I am shocked that a licensed business operating on park district property would be oblivious to the laws in place for all of our safety. They required to operate in a prudent matter which does not endanger life, limb, or property (46 USC 2302). Nor do the Navigation Rules exonerate any vessel from the consequences of neglect (Rule 2), which, among other things, could be unsafe speeds (Rule 6), improper lookout (Rule 5), or completely ignoring your responsibilities as prescribed by the...
