I used to go to this place quite a bit but then they really went up in their lunch specials but when you raise the prices of your lunch specials you should still use the same amount of meat or chicken so to speak, lately and since after covid you just don't get the same amount of chicken or meat or pork. I know it's lunch special but when you go up to dollars and then you go up an extra dollar for the so-called steak you should get the same amount as you did before any pandemic. The food is good I do enjoy the food. But definitely did not get enough steak meat for my Mongolian. And then just to make sure that I was correct about what I'm saying here I also at the same time ordered the crispy sesame chicken, now I will report that there was quite a bit of sesame chicken on the lunch special so that's a big plus there. But when it comes to the meat and when they went up $2 for their lunch special and plus an extra dollar for steak there should be enough steak there for my Mongolian beef. I'm just giving you the clean notes of what I realized and tasted and seen when ordering both meals it's not like I just ordered one meal and gave a review I ordered two meals at the same time and this is what I have to review. I don't sit in there because the atmosphere ain't so great to sit in there I suggest taking it home. There's really not much to look at, unless you like North avenue traffic. LOL ššš¤£šš you can grab your own sauce as much as you can where it's in the basket so that's a good thing you'll never run out of hot mustard, sweet and sour or soy sauce, so grab handfuls. š There's plenty of rice where the meat should be so you'll definitely fill up on the rice. Tons of onions but lacking broccoli I found very little broccoli in both my meals. I would think vegetable would not be a big price gouge here. The sesame chicken was okay not really a big taste to it. You know some places fall at the wayside when it comes to taste they're cutting back I guess trying to save a couple of bucks. So needless to say I won't make a regular thing of this. They're $10 lunch special is barely a special anymore.. for an extra $5 on some meals you might as well just get the meal and you'll get more beef, chicken, pork.. yes you still get the free soda with your lunch meal but I rather have more meat. Especially when they're charging an extra dollar for meat on top of the $2 they went up from their regular $8 lunch specials. Everybody was nice as always. Again this is just a report on food I don't report on anything else because that's different people's opinions. My report was just on the food. Again I used to come here all the time before covid but after that it just is lacking quality and taste. Thank you.Thank you. And I was generous with the star review.. also unless you can get the front spot in front of the store there is a bus stop there please be careful. Unless you want to park across the street by the Shell gas. Again my recommendation was on the food and the food only. Once again lacking in the beefsteak department especially when you pay an extra dollar on top of the already $2 extra lunch special used to be $8 now$10, steak beef extra dollar. 11 bucks total. but plenty of sesame chicken on the lunch...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReally liked this place today. The food was incredible, the lady behind the counter was courteous and quick, and the place was quiet and non-distracting.
My only notes are as follows:
The portion I received was quite large. I'm a bit of a bigger guy and I could not finish the last third of my meal. The rice was a good portion but my General Tso's Chicken had to be about 2 whole servings. My Hot and Sour Soup (all incredibly delicious by the way) would have worked much nicer as a cup instead of the full bowl on that lunch special.
The vibe of the place doesn't have a ton going for it. It's very clean but the tables and chairs could use replacing for a more comfortable experience. I noticed a table with paper under the legs to keep it steady.
I LOVED, however:
That Egg Roll and Fried Rice. Y'all must've made it with magic or something. I want to learn how to cook like THAT. So good. The rice was perfectly made and the egg roll was so crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Literally perfection.
Y'all's presentation was very nice. The plates of food were beautiful to look at. I can tell that whoever is plating in the kitchen cares about what goes out and how. I have much respect for you.
This one might be controversial but I loved that there was no horrible music playing over speakers. I came in while it was still pretty quiet and it was very peaceful, even with the other customers and the sounds of the kitchen. It sent a message to me saying, "we trust you enough to hear what's happening in our space".
Anyways, I'll be back. It's close to my church so maybe it can be a semi-regular Sunday thing. I look forward to seeing what else comes out of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn 01/25/24 I ordered 2 items on their menu which were the Double Sauteed Pork with a side of White Rice & a large Won Ton Soup. **Please note "adding vegetables" to the Pork wasn't mentioned on the menu. What I received instead was a messed up entree with a bunch of vegetables dripping all over my plastic bag! The container was not secured, thus the lid flipped over. I called immediately & tried to remedy the situation. The agent & I agreed to placing another order noting that I did not want vegetables & arranged to have it delivered on Friday, 01/26/24 @ 1 PM. The manager called me seconds later to state that I was stuck with my order & refused to issue a refund or redeliver my food They blamed me for all of this & weren't taking any responsibility. Honoring their word is foreign to them. Usually I just want to order the large soup, but it's not enough, so I have to order more than I need or want because the minimum order is $15.00. I know for certain that I will never order from them again . They have total disrespect for the customer & I'm not having it. The woman owner refused to talk to me on the phone because she's consumed with greed & bilking customers like me. They didn't provide me with their names which shows they're not transparent. One of the key skills to keeping a business is knowing when to yield for the customer & listening to what they have to say. Peking missed the mark. One dissatisfied customer is...
