Very attentive group of employees! Had a great experience today around 6pm! Every encounter was with someone who was knowledgeable and not pushy!
Amanda helped me know a ton more about Lancôme (so excited for the rose mask!) and knew about other brands that I had questions about. I appreciated how well-rounded she was and felt like the foundation and skin care from Lancôme was an authentic sale rather than wanting a high end sale. I am now a Lancôme fan for life. Wow the textures! However, she respected that I LOVE to mix and match brands. Seemed to care by knowing where everything was in the store and tried different testers to explain differences in them. Very professional. She introduced herself which was a nice touch...I was caught off guard,in a way, so I hope I remembered the name correctly!!!! Very personable and her skin and makeup looked flawless so I know she is trustworthy.
Lori Ann (I hope that’s her name!) assisted in my brush needs. I am very lost and confused on the $$ in that section but she informed me of uses/feels and added a lot of value to them along with longevity. Gave me a few tricks and tips which was greatly appreciated! I didn’t feel judged one bit for my beginning level of contouring. I grew up where I looked like I rolled around in Doritos. I hope she works every time I have to shop!
When I finally decided I did enough damage for my more responsible-bill-paying-self to tolerate and avoid the eyeing me down in the mirror, (at least I’m going to look good AND save money with not needing a face lift now that I have great skin and know how to sculpt my face (thanks again, Amanda and Lori Ann!!)), I met Crystal When I checked out. I felt like she was my personal cashier and there was never going to be anyone else in line. Don’t get me wrong, she was quick and sufficient but VERY nice. Calm, cool and collected!
I’ve been coming to this location for a few years and always had great interactions but today I felt the need to speak up to who handled my clueless needs because I’m sure they shine with a lot of customers! Thanks Ulta for supplying great beauty products across the board and having staff that goes...
Read moreI had the worst experience of my life as a customer at Ulta on 8/22/2023
I bought a Valentino perfume at the Hyde Park outlet on 8/18/23, and decided to return it on my way from work on 8/22/23 to 430 Michigan avenue. I handed the receipt and item to Jenissa when I got there, and while she was working on the transaction, she tore a paper I believe is the receipt I handed to her. She realized after a while of consulting with her colleague that she won’t be able to issue the refund without my card ( which wasn’t with me at the moment) and tried handing me a gift card, which i refused, because I wanted my $171 refund. I was told at that point that I could return it to the hyde park outlet without the receipt, but I was not convinced it was ok to leave without POP. The manager ( A white joined in searching for the receipt, and asked if I’m sure she didn’t return it to me, told her she didn’t and she excused herself. The manager came back after a while, and accused me wrongly of returning the receipt in my bag, claiming she saw it on camera. I was pissed a whole manager could come up with such dangerous lie, an embarrassing moment for me with other customers behind me, all thanks to a LYING Ulta manager. She had me searching me bag on the counter, and when I asked what part of the bag she saw me hid it in, she couldn’t come up with a word. Told her to go look again, and possibly show me what she saw. She went in again for over an hour, not one of the staff told me anything till close to two hours. A lady in black top and purple pants eventually communicated with me, Jenissa did same after almost 2 hours of waiting. The manager came out a while after to let me know she spoke with the Hyde park manager and she’s willing to accept it without the receipt, she made no reference to the FALSE accusation about the receipt. Picked the item at that point and left, returning it to the Hyde Park outlet as early as possible today. I hope the lying manager experience worse than what she did to me yesterday,...
Read moreI had a really unpleasant experience at the Ulta Beauty in downtown Chicago. I came in to help my out of town friend find a highlighter, and when I approached a Dolce & Gabbana vendor to ask a question, he completely ignored me the first two times I said “excuse me.” When I asked if he worked there, he barely responded, looked me up and down, rolled his eyes, and pursed his lips. When I asked for help, he said he was a vendor, not an Ulta employee, and dismissed me, only smiling once I was walking away.
I then approached another employee who was taking out the trash. He also looked me up and down and rolled his eyes before asking, “Yeah, what do you need?” When I asked for a manager, he asked, “Who are you?” I said my name is Summer, and he said, “Oh, so you’re a customer, not someone looking for work?, which felt inappropriate and condescending. I told him I wasn’t looking for a job, and he just smiled and walked off.
The manager finally came, but showed no empathy or real concern. I calmly explained the situation, and while she did say “sorry,” it was robotic and emotionless. She also brushed off the vendor’s behavior by saying he doesn’t work for Ulta but for Dolce & Gabbana. I responded that Dolce & Gabbana should be ashamed of how their reps treat customers inside Ulta stores.
Overall, the energy, attitude, and lack of professionalism from multiple people in this store made me feel completely disrespected. I do not recommend visiting...
