I am a resident of Bonifay and this place is a joke. We often refer to DMH as the band-aid box and here is why, I went into the ER in excruciating pain. Pain so bad I was throwing up and could hardly walk. When i finally was taken back after my wait in the waiting room the nursing staff was all very nice but when asked why I was being seen I described all my symptoms most important the pain in my lower abdomen and back. They drew blood, took a urine sample, and done a CT of my abdomen and pelvis. I received IV fluids and pain meds and was told my CT was clear and I was diagnosed with a UTI and discharged. Beings as I have a history with UTIās I followed up with my family physician because I was not fully convinced that a UTI was the cause of this terrible pain. Also, even though I gave them a list of symptoms and complaints the discharge paperwork stated there was no complaint of 100% of the issues I informed them about. The radiologist from the hospital faxed my CT to my primary doctor and when he read the results of the CT it stated I had a cyst on my left ovary and a kidney stone in my left kidney. My doctor prescribed me medication that finally allowed me some relief after a few days of terrible pain. All being said I went 24 more hours after being check out in the Emergency room at doctors memorial hospital in excruciating pain because of a wrong diagnosis. I called in and reported the wrong diagnosis and expressed how upset about this situation I was with two of the staff members, (Jeanine Webb) and (Joan Baker), and they where both very pleasant and helpful in addressing and reporting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came into the ER on Thursday with severe kidney stone pain and clearly explained that I have a history of kidney stones. Despite this, I was told that because there was āno blood in my urine,ā it wasnāt possible that I was passing a stone ā even after I mentioned that I had used the bathroom before coming in. I was instead diagnosed with enteritis and sent home with only ibuprofen 800 mg and nausea medicine.
Not long after, I ended up passing an actual kidney stone ā in extreme pain ā with no real help or relief from the visit. A simple prescription like Flomax could have made a huge difference. This experience showed a complete lack of listening and proper evaluation. I do not recommend this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust had surgery on 03/07/2024 and let me just say how amazing the experience was. The two girls working with me in Pre-op were so sweet and caring! Definitely made the scary surgery I was having an easy breeze. The recovery nurses (though I donāt remember that much) were also amazing and caring (from what I do remember from them and what my spouse told me). Medsurg nurses were amazing too! One of the cleanest hospitals I have ever been to. The staff was amazing all across departments. The hospital food was amazing (considering it was hospital I give it a 8.5/10) never in my life have I ever been treated with this much respect at a hospital. I 100% recommend this hospital if you are...
