Castaway Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Bonifay

Should be called Stayaways - Google made me give a star - ok its close to home - that's my one star. Friday 9/6/19 Arrived at 5:40 pm were seated at 6pm, at a crowded table smaller than my end tables, wedged in the back. Very uncomfortable since I am handicapped. I ask if we could be moved after the 5th person squeezed by with their behind sliding across the edge of our table. Waitress said simple "NO". One waitress with a large backside almost knocked everything off of our table in squeezing past. We ordered without delay, drinks served in styrofoam cups. We ordered what they call the "trash boat" platter and the name is appropriate, since that is where it belonged. Food arrived 35 minutes later, cole slaw was the warmest thing on the plate. Fries were cold, two very small fried oysters, way over cooked, mostly batter, could not be eaten. Hush-puppies over cooked and hard. We had ordered onion rings, they arrived after we were finished with everything else, and only after I flagged someone down and ask. The original waitress ask if we wanted tarter sauce,but we never got it. The service is awful, we never saw our waitress again, no one bothered to ask if everything was ok, or if we needed anything else. When I went to pay, with credit card in hand, the cashier never said she was sorry, nor did she offer a discount or solution, she said all of our food is fresh to order. So why was our food cold? Was it raked off of plates that others did not finish? You can only wonder. She was not interested at all in the issues with our meal. She wasted no time in grabbing my credit card and charging the full amount. Next time I decide to throw $24 away, I will feed it to my trash disposal. Very rude people. Overpriced for the quality and service. Waffle House across the street has way better service. The locals flock to this place - mainly because other than fast food, there is no place else to go. The seafood is not fresh, I was told by an employee that they receive most of it frozen or already prepared. Pho Noodle just up the street is changing to a seafood and more restaurant. Anything would be better...

I've honestly never been a fan because I don't like fried seafood, but my friends wanted to go so we went. I ordered something like a seafood boil. At first the waitress said they might not have it, but when she returned, she said they did. Maybe they whipped it together last minute and that is why they served me half raw fish and shrimp. I'm not sure. I sat quietly while my friends finished eating, but made the waitress aware of the issue whenever she returned. She did not seem to care. Another person checked in, we told her. Again, didn't seem to care. Told my waitress again and was finally offered a different dish, which I declined as I was starting to feel sick from what I did eat before realizing everything was half raw. She then told me to discuss at checkout. She told us what deserts were available, but then returned to tell me they were all out of what I wanted. About the same time, we noticed a baby roach crawling on the seat behind my friend's child's head. We had already sat the whole meal swatting the flies away as well. When I went to check out, I was advised that they would give me half off and that next time I should say something sooner so they can replace my food. I told her that I had lost my appetite at that point and didn't want anything from there. I still paid $15ish dollars after eating mostly a handful of potatoes and half a garlic bread. I left a clearly full plate sitting on the table. She had the mind to ask me if I wanted to leave a tip as well. Smh. No. $15 for nothing is quite enough. Do not...

Me and my family went to this restaurant and it was the absolute worst experience.. first off there was no where to sit a group of 6 which wasn’t a big deal we didn’t mind waiting but then a nice family of 4 gave us their huge booth and they moved to a smaller table… we were seated the place was swarmed with flies which was strike number one but we decided it wasn’t a major deal… the waitress was not friendly nor did she use any of her customer service skills that she should have…she took our drink order and we never saw her again we was given a different waitress with no explanation why.. she re-took our drink order and when they came each one of them had grey spots in the ice cubes throughout the drink… we ordered the whole catfish which taste of water NO SEASONING it was sent back and asked for it to be well seasoned waited 40 minutes for a new order which tasted the exact same way of no seasoning.. we also ordered the buffalo shrimp which were amazing however the ranch dressing has mashed dead fly under the bottom of the cup…. Which was disgusting… to sum up this review do not eat here the food is not great at all and the service is equally bad… they don’t care about the condition of your food or the service that was put out… it could have been that we were of a different race not saying that this is the sole reason but could have been a contributing factor in how my group...
