I always see how cute this store looks and finally got a chance to check it out when I took my mom out to lunch next door. Their customer service gets them 1 star, but the items and prices bumped them up to 2 stars.
We walk in, conversing with one another, and hear the cashiers speaking with a customer who is checking out. We continue talking with each other, and as we slowly check out the store we don't get acknowledged or welcomed.
When the rung up customer leaves the cashiers continue talking with each other and still don't acknowledge us, even though at this point we are around 10 feet from the register. My mom makes eye contact with one of the 2 cashiers and says, "Good morning! How are you today?" and the cashier replies she's doing well. My back is to the register so I barely hear the cashier say in a hushed voice that there's a big sale starting tomorrow. I don't respond because I figure she's talking to the other cashier if she's speaking so quietly.
Then as we make our way to the display directly in front of the register both cashiers both disappaer to the back. By now my mom and I are both offended at the lack of customer service and general friendliness that should be priority for a small town business.
We saw a few items we wanted and had questions about (since the prices were what you'd expect in a trendy boutique-style clothing store) but we left without making any purchases. My mom later told me that the comment about the sale was directed at us, but for some reason they didn't speak up as they had during their previous conversations. We won't be back.
Why spend our money somewhere they don't...
