I moved into this complex a little over a month ago, and while I appreciate some aspects, my experience has been less than satisfactory overall. I would like to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of the maintenance team, particularly Mr. Raphael, who has been nothing short of amazing. He is prompt, professional, and truly dedicated to resolving issues. I can’t praise him enough 🙌🏽. Additionally, my leasing coordinator, Jessica, and other staff members were very pleasant during the leasing process, which initially gave me confidence in my decision to move here.
I wanted to atleast rate the place 3/5 mostly because of the team here but unfortunately, my move-in experience fell far below expectations. Upon arrival, the apartment was not in move-in condition. To keep it short some of the most notable issues included:
-mold in the place -dirty carpet -bathrooms were half clean refrigerator was disgusting 🤢 -walls so dirty that the humidification build up from hot shower on the wall is yellow and the walls have hair all over them. Cleaning lady told me the hair is painted in the walls. -maintenance issues -Holes in walls -Tubs clogged -heat/ a/c wasn’t working Plus more.
My biggest frustration was the bugs and the fact that I spent over a week deep-cleaning the apartment myself, which delayed my ability to unpack and settle in. Although the front desk did offer to send a cleaning professional, the individual left early due to a personal matter, leaving the responsibility on me. Given my busy schedule, this was extremely inconvenient, and no alternative solution or compensation, such as a gift card for a cleaning service, was provided.
-I had to get a key recut when I first moved in because my keys didn’t work and the front desk was closed when my movers came. No compensation was offered. -Despite paying a mandatory Pest control fee, I still encounter pest on the regular -I was without a/c and heat for a while -then while I was gone out of town , I came back to a letter about the exterior cameras. I asked about cameras when I reviewed the lease and was told by the leasing office that they were fine , everyone has them and that there are no other security cameras available. I was going to email staff about the contradictions but it’s been so much going on with moving into the place I just left it alone. The first time I emailed them , I didn’t get a response back. I had to email again and ask them to confirm they received my previous email. So it’s no need to add more to the list.
While I wanted to rate this property higher due to the kindness of the staff and the excellent maintenance team, the significant move-in issues and lack of follow-through prevent me from doing so. The move-in experience was stressful and time-consuming, and I did not receive the level of service or resolution expected from a professional apartment complex especially with the amount of...
Read moreManagement at this place consists of bad people and liars. This place has changed the management 3 times while I had a lease over there. First management promised me a storage until my lease starts to store my stuff that I moved from Chicago, IL. They lied to me and didn't end up giving me any storage. I had to keep a Uhaul truck for additional week and pay for it. Then they said they will pay me back for the extended time of having the truck. They never did. I had no problems with second management besides maintenance, it always took them too long to come and fix things that already didn't work. Third management however was the worst. They started doing remodeling of all apartments around ours making so much noice. They were replacing the old looks and upgrading some amenities, adding granite kitchen counters, etc. When our lease ended we left and expected to receive a portion of our $1200 security deposit back. For couple of months we didn't receive nothing even tho I left the new address on the form for the security deposit. I ended up calling them just to find out that we now owe them $1800 more. They basically charged us $3000 for new paint job for walls and a carpet that my wife has been maintaining and left cleaner than what it ever was. Today my wife, friend who lived with us and I have a collection on our credit scores for $1900 that we will never pay but will do a lawsuit to get it removed. They can't do a remodeling and charge residents for it, saying it was a carpet (which was clean and looked better than it was looking when we moved in). And even if it was it couldn't cost that much even if it was made of golden fibers...
Please don't tell me to contact management because I did contact the corporate office and they were as equally unprofessional as their employees at the residence. They never even sent me the receipt, they just claimed that their employees were right... MG Properties has the worst customer service and protection. The entire point of giving deposit up front is to cover any potential damages created while using your property. Charging even more than that after we left and for nothing we did is just a ripoff and very unprofessional. That's why all the reviews over here are the way they...
Read moreI never write reviews on rental properties but this one I have to. I just moved out the 1st and i am being hit with a payment of $1600 on top of my $600 security deposit .I am being told that there was a pet scan indicating pet urine YET I DO NOT NOR NEVER HAD A PET! I am not a pet person and it was only me and my baby boy living there. I was told the carpet was new prior to my move in back in March 2021..I Have lived in my fair share of apartments and the carpet did not appear to be new clean as in someone shampooed and cleaned yes discolored yes. I am disgusted because I am being told there is nothing that I can be done because that is what was detected upon my move out. I am not even arguing the fact that they claim the entire apartment needs to be painted when their was minor holes due to mounting a tv and small holes due to hanging a few pictures.during my pre move out inspect the maintenance man was only concerned about the tub which had spots due to needing cleaning which I made sure was done because he told me they could charge me $300 just for two spots…THIS MAN NEVER MENTIONED THE POSSIBILITY OF NEW FLOORING DUE TO STAINS which if it is truly damaged to no repair would have been noticeable no matter what furniture was still in the home. I was told he did not recommend me cleaning besides taking out trash because they were still going to charge me a cleaning fee of $125 and hit me with a extra $90 due to left behind residue in cabinets. The point of a security deposit is to haute for any damages left by tenants…the things I can complain about this place I will not but I will complain they are trying to get over on people. If we can not come to a fair agreement I may have to get lawyers involved because how can their be PET URINE IF I DO NOT OWN ANY...
