â 1 Star â Disappointing Experience After Giving Multiple Chances
Hi, Iâm writing this review with a heavy heart because I truly understand how hard it is to be an entrepreneur and run a business that delivers consistent, quality service. Thatâs why I really tried to give Otay Nails a fair shot not once, but three times.
The first time I got a full white set, but the nails were so thick they looked like plastic veneers. I came back and kindly asked if they could remove them and do a French tip instead. They redid them, but again, they turned out thick, oversized, and the gel started chipping within three days even before my vacation. I was incredibly frustrated because I had booked the appointment early to allow time for errands before my trip.
I went back a third time and explained to the owner that I had already returned twice and was losing confidence. I made it clear I was traveling the next day and if the nails chipped again, it would be a huge inconvenience. She agreed to fix them but still charged me $50, even though the issue stemmed from their original poor work. I paid without complaining because I could tell this wasnât about customer care it was about charging for time, even when the result didnât meet basic expectations.
In total, I spent over $180, plus $10 for the second French tip, and another $50 on the third fix. I never got nails that lasted or looked professionally done and I never got an apology or a gesture to make things right. Thatâs why Iâm writing this review: I will never return.

Read moreHorrible service was here July 19th and the lady was working to fast to even do my pedicure correctly.
When I walked in I asked if the offered Zelle or Venmo Jenny Tran who I believe is the owner said âyes we take everythingâ.
She started my service by my asking the color I stated white regular and she persisted on gel but I said no. She had an attitude! she wanted to start the service by doing my nails painting them and then rinsing and the pedicure because she was also doing nails. She rinsed my feet , trimmed my nails , used the scrub and painted them then said to wait sheâll be back.
I waited for about 5-10 minutes and she was doing someoneâs nails. I asked another person if she was done since she told me to wait , the lady signaled to wait and I assumed she was going put lotion/oil or the towel for the pedicure portion. Jenny Tran then said âshe did I saw herâ.
I said she never did but ok thatâs fine, I walk to pay and asked if I can have some lotion and she said âwe donât have lotionâ I said âokâ then I said âcan I get the Venmoâ she said â we donât do Venmo and walked awayâ Jenny Tran then came and I got her Venmo and I asked her for lotion and she gave me some but continued to state she already did.
HORRIBLE AND UNCOMFORTABLE experience to get the full service I paid for. Horrible customer service and made me feel for a liar for asking for part of the service towel/lotion.
They should fix their customer service & only get as many people as they can handle. Would...

I don't know the lady's name but IF I was as to ever come back, I'll post a photo of her.
I came in asking for a mani pedi combo. I had old gel overlay and needed for them to be taken off. I was then escorted to a pedicure chair. The lady then asked why, that I should do a fill. Again, i stated that i just wanted the gel off and a simple manicure with regular nail polish. Then I hear the pedicure lady speaking in Vietnamese, "Oh she'll choose the lowest option of Pedicure, watch."
Manicure lady then was about to massage my hands with a purple colored lotion. I asked if it was Lavender scented because I am allergic to it. She didn't understand, so I told her forget the massage.
I know you're asking me, why am I not speaking Vietnamese. It's because I chose not to and you really see their true colors and it's insane how people speak and treat you differently once you start speaking Viet.
Next, the lady who was doing my manicure, stated "Watch her nails are going to chip the next few days". Well sure enough they did because no base coast was applied and the top coat you added dried with bubbles. It was such a poor job. Even I can do one better.
All and all, I'll never...
