City Centre Ithaca — Local services in City of Ithaca

(Most of these reviews seem to be about the "centre" of Ithaca -- the restaurants/shops and such, but this is an apartment building.)

I lived here for one year and moved out because I was lucky enough to find a much better place, and above all because I strongly disliked how stingy and rude the management was -- completely at odds with what you'd expect from a place at this price. I'm not sure if this is due to the parent company or the actual people on site, but I was continuously irked by so many small things and by their ridiculous rent increase ($500+). What really amazed me though was their blatant attempt to foist the final cleaning off to residents by suggesting that we pay $400 to one of their friends to do it.

As a reference, Spruce, a cleaning service app that operates in large cities and is already more expensive than most services, charges $150-80 for the equivalent work and time, maybe $200 if you do add-ons like decluttering. Where's this extra $200 going to? I think this is a good indication of the values of the people who run this place. Edit: And the many ways they will try to scam you out of your money beyond the already exorbitant rent, including: withholding your security deposit.

Otherwise the apartment meets expectations for its amenities, location, and cleanliness inside, and the maintenance crew are beyond stellar. Nevertheless I still recommend looking elsewhere as many other such "luxury" buildings exist in Ithaca, even in...

This is a first class facility. They offer excellent, high-quality apartments near Cornell University. In addition, they have: Outstanding staff. Great location. A “customer service mentality” that makes you feel good about living here.
