I ordered 2600 feet of NYSEG approved, underground line from Cooper in Ithaca. My first phone call was to inquire on whether they carried the line. I was told yes. I then asked how early I should order and pay before delivery (I was told that they had thousands of feet, so it wasn't urgent that I paid at the time of query). I was told I could order and pay one day prior to delivery. Then I went to the establishment to get the quote and the "cut out" sheet for NYSEG. Then my husband and I went to look at the transformer box and asked for another copy of the "cut out" sheet and the manager wasn't happy that we asked him to print another copy. Finally, I made contact with them the 4th time to order, pay and set up the delivery a few days later. (We scheduled the sand to be delivered and we rented a skid steer and excavator.) I was then told they only had one spool with 1400 feet and the other spools had less than 1100 feet. We needed two runs of 1300 feet each. I got no apologies. I mostly dealt with the manager, who SHOULD have checked to see if they had 2 spools with at least 1300 feet. Especially since I spoke to him 4 times prior to ordering. His attitude was "oh well". I told him that I had everything lined up and already paid for the equipment rental. He had no accountability and no compassion and no apology. We spent over $11,000 at Cooper. I would not have continued to do any business if we could have found the wire somewhere else.
We needed another $1000 worth of electrical items today. I went there again and another associate was so rude, I walked out. The only decent person I spoke with over the several visit's was the youngest employee there. He actually apologized that the manager screwed up so badly.
Cooper Electric needs to hire people who have decent customer service and employees who know how to check their inventory correctly and employees who aren't rude. Who am I suppose to complain to? The manager is one of the biggest culprits! 200,000 feet of underground wire INSTOCK means nothing. Check the SPOOL footage not the OVERALL stock.
