Budwey’s Plaza — Local services in City of North Tonawanda

I’ve been coming to this store since it was Budwey’s, and it always brings back a nostalgic, old-school vibe that I absolutely love. It reminds me of how grocery shopping used to feel, and there’s something so comforting about that.

This has always been my go-to for produce and fresh meat, even though I’ve had a few experiences with marked-down meat that seemed spoiled - even when I used it the same day. Aside from produce, fresh meat, and some of the dairy (mainly the cheese), I feel like many staple items are overpriced. That said, if you take the time to look around, you can occasionally find some good deals.

One thing that’s off putting though is the cart of “sale” items, which are products that are way past expiration. For example, seeing a bottle of Hidden Valley ranch that expired five months ago priced at $2.50 feels more like greed than a deal. But hey, it is what it is.

On a positive note, the café’s pizza and wing deal is fantastic - you can’t beat a large pizza and 20 wings for $26.99. Their fish fry is also affordable, though I haven’t tried it myself. Overall, despite its flaws, I love this store’s nostalgic charm and will continue shopping here for...

I'm really disappointed in the café today and extremely irritated! My money literally thrown into the trash. I was really busy after work so I stopped at the cafe to get a bucket of fried chicken with sides for my family's dinner so I wouldn't have to cook. First off, when I got home and emptied my bag one of the sides I ordered and paid for was missing. One of the other sides, the container was only about 2/3 filled ...and it just got worse from there... the chicken was absolutely inedible, overcooked to an unacceptable point!! My poor kids were spitting it out because it could not be chewed, once I tried the chicken myself I threw the bucket into the trash because I couldnt chew it either. The mashed potatoes could've been made better by my 5 year old, overly thick and almost tasteless, in the garbage! What we got today was 100% not what I have bought from the CAFÉ in the past. I found the plaza parking lot to be very run down while the store itself is clean and well stocked, it has a dated feel to it. Other than the sale items, i found the every day staples to be extremely high priced. A bottle of ketchup that wasn't the very large size or name brand for 2.99 is way too high for me. . At least when you p9high prices at Tops, you get points toward cheaper gasoline. I saw nothing there Indicting a program where you earn say gift cards or something. I will stick to places like Save a Lot, Pricerite, Aldi or Walmart. Much more bang...
