I stopped in early about 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2025. I have not been to the store in quite a few years maybe 10. I live in South Lockport and I was checking the ad A few days earlier and noticed that they had stuffed pork chops, bone-in, for only $2.69 /lb. I had to check this out and when I arrived, they had a decent selection of very good looking bone -in pork chops and they all were over stuffed just the way I like them. These chops looked like they were just made. it was one of those one day only specials that they have in their weekly ad. For example, next Thursday, the 25th, they will be offering 8 deep fried breaded Chicken legs for only $4.99.Anyway I proceeded to get six of the stuffed chops in 3 double packs. Well, I was looking around the meat department. I talked to a lady who was filling shelves with freshly made product and she was a great person to talk to. I don’t remember her name, but I told her I had not been there in a while, and I asked her some questions about meats. She informed me that they were out of lamb for the moment, that I should keep checking the weekly ad..She also told me that I should call ahead and i could check the availability and current price and even place an order by phone and they would have it ready when I arrived. She was so happy to help and we talked about other relevant details. I went to the deli and told the lady that the pastrami was on sale the next day for 3 dollars a pound less, and she said that,s ok that she would give it to me at the sale price today. Her name was Sarah and she was yet another great person to talk to, I mean, she really made my day. I ended up getting the pastrami as well as some cherry-wood deeply smoked Polish sausage and the best imported Swiss cheese I’ve ever tasted. She offered me a sample and I must say that it was very delicious, just as good if not better than Boars Head. I said that Sarah made my day because she was everything customer service is all about or at least should be. It seems that you can’t take customer service for granted anymore just anywhere. I am 74 years old and I know the difference between good and not good customer service and Sarah, well let’s just put it this way: If I was a scout or a corporate “head-hunter “ as it is called, I would steal her away from that store in a heartbeat. I spent about an hour shopping and by the time I was done, I racked up a $57.00 dollar total bill, and I am so happy and grateful that I decided to return to Market in the Square in North Tonawanda. Before I left, I made sure to ask for the manager on duty and I informed him that whoever made the decision to hire Sarah struck gold. A guy once told me “You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression “and because of that i will be checking their weekly ads and returning here from now on. I understand that no store and no staff and management, however good, are not perfect. There are up-sides and down-sides to everything.I have learned to “roll with it “.Many thanks to Sarah at the Deli, as well as all the others who make...
Read moreThey sell products past their expiration date!!! Me and my mom went yesterday, I never shop here but my mom does, I noticed a cart of reduced for quick sale items. In the cart there was stuff as old as 6 month past the the expiration date. I let the manager know and she said that they sell stuff past the date all the time, she said this twice. They said they had no number for corporate and the manager won't be in till Sunday. When I went to leave the manager shook her head at me. When I got out to the car my mom had a small ice cream she was trying to open. I noticed that it expired 2 MONTHS AGO. I went back in and the service desk was closed so I asked for the manager. When I told her she clearly doesn't care since she shook her head she said "so what do you want? A refund" . She had an attitude the whole time, she had to have another employee use a binder and show her how to do a refund. When the guy gave me my money back the manager (Lori?) said "I'm so sorry" in such a sarcastic way. This is NOT ok, you can't sell expired items, and you can't sell them for a discount. I will be filing complaints with the appropriate parties because people don't need to be getting sick over...
Read moreI ordered 2 Pizza subs one with extra cheese one with mushrooms. Pick up in 40 mins. Got there at 45 mins and that's when she started making them. I got 2 subs one with mushrooms one with cheese. They're telling me I'm wrong for not asking for pepperoni Not too mention that I was standing right there if there was a question. Worse part is she standing in front of me picking the tinfoil off one sub. I told her please just wrap them up, I'll take care of it at home. After ANOTHER 5 mins I tell her please just wrap them up, I've got to go. That's when she proceeds to bring them in front of me to pick more foil off. I was a Karen & snapped just wrap them up I'll remove the fill myself, my wings are getting cold. So she proceeds to tell me the other girl should have not given me the wings, as she picks away at my sub bc there is no longer a pizza or cheese sub bc the cheese is melted onto the foil, so I had a bread w sauce sub. Karen/Me said "Please stop & just wrap the subs bc my hubs had surgery today & he's very hungry" And she says "GEEZ" to which I said exactly!
