I have been at stops and busses have gone past the stop. Once the bus didn’t even come by the VA on Calkins - the last one of the day - I waited in the rain for 20 minutes before the scheduled time and for 20 minutes past the time. The bus never even passed the parking lot or even came down the street. Drivers have made me pay twice because they claim they “reached the end of the route” even if I had literally just gotten on the bus at the last stop and was going to the transit center or they’ve made me wait outside as the bus sits there with nobody in it - in both subzero and scorching temperatures. That’s lead to me getting stranded the day before payday because I had only enough to get to and from work. Now they’re eliminating routes on lines that actually need MORE service than they currently have. I rely on the bus to get everywhere until the quarantine ends and I can get my drivers license and it’s been bad since before the quarantine. It’s made me late for appointments, late for work, and I give myself several hours to get to my destination and get there early. Customer service is a joke. They really need to re-imagine their reImagine plan and actually LISTEN...
Read moreIf I could do 0 stars I would. Not only is the tracker not accurate, but the buses leave prior to their arrival time. For example: RIT students frequently don’t catch a bus on Saturday night because: 1: the bus doesn’t show up on the RTS Tracking system, 2: the bus always leaves before the scheduled arrival time. (AKA the bus is schedule at Alexander and Gardiner 1:03-1:05) we arrived at the stop at 12:58, no bus showed up so we were forced to uber home. 3: this is a frequent issue on almost any route. The bus purposefully doesn’t follow a schedule AND location is turned off.
It’s ridiculous. There are much larger transit authorities out there, with a lot larger population they serve, yet they are able to accurately, efficiently, and reliably serve their community. I don’t understand how an authority at this size has such minuscule capability to serve their community
RTS I hope you reply. I hope you listen, because people are starting to notice. Other transit authority directors are ready to take RTS over because clearly RTS has been a disaster and will continue to be a disaster until they start acting the way...
Read moreRegional Transit Service is owned and operated by the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority. This service serves all of Monroe County as well as portions of Livingston, Wayne, Ontario, Orleans and Genesee Counties. In case you don’t want to take your car to work and avoid traffic jams on 390, 490 or 590, RTS will serve you well. Most routes will end or begin at the Transit Center on 71 N. Clinton Avenue. This service is excellent for those who want to save money. Adults ride for $1 and an all-day passed can be purchased for $3. Senior citizens can ride for 50 cents and children 5 and under can ride free. FastPass tags are available for purchase at the Transit Center. I highly recommend RTS for all residents of Rochester and...
