Was sold a terrible vehicle in September that shouldn't have ever been sold. No way it passed inspection at a reputable place. Auction lemon. My story sounds identical to everyone else's on here! Before I even picked up the vehicle, it needed brake lines to be repaired. They supposedly did that but less than two weeks after I bought it, the brakes gave out while I was driving my kids to school. I called them, furious, and they had me bring it to another mechanic who they recommended. They said the brakes were in terrible shape and that all six lines needed replacing. Tower paid for that. Then, in November, the timing chain broke and so we replaced the entire engine and the catalytic converters. The car had less than 100,000 miles on it and the mechanic agreed that it wasn't normal to have the chain break like that with so few miles on the car. I split the bill with Tower since technically it was out of warranty (by two weeks) but they "felt bad" that the car was having these issues. The car was off the road for two weeks and I had to rent one. Now the car is making a weird whirring noise. And takes forever to start (had to call AAA to start it today). Brought it to a new mechanic (who Tower Auto isn't buddies with). They said they can't believe the car ever passed inspection and was unsafe to drive, clearly before I even bought it. They showed me the underside so I could take photos and the back half of the frame is rotted away. A few spots of damage have been welded over but not really repaired properly and there are plenty of spots that are just gaping rusty holes. There are issues with the steering pump and steering column, loads of sensor malfunctions, the insides of the tires are completely worn down (meaning a likely suspension issue), ignition misfiring, and a bunch of other things. Worst of all?? After TWO major repairs, the brake lines are STILL LEAKING! I was told by this mechanic to not drive the car home because it was unsafe, especially with my children in it AND being 8 months pregnant. They advised me to call a lawyer because the car was never suitable to be sold and should never have passed a legitimate inspection. Right now, the repairs I am looking at would be upward of $4,000. After I already put almost $2,000 into it. And overpaid for it by thousands to begin with. And had to pay for rental cars and Uber rides during the lengthy repairs. I'm hoping Tower will choose to do the right thing without all the unnecessary litigation but I'm not...
Read moreLast May my father bought me my first car here. The website looked reputable and we neglected all of the one star reviews. I wish now we would have taken them into account. We purchased a 2013 BMW with around 78,000 miles on it. He was asking for about 15,000 but we got the price down to 14,100. The shifty-service started when the owner almost refused to take a credit card payment and made a fuss about the 2% credit charge he would have had to pay. My dad offered to pay the charge and the owner reluctantly agreed. About two weeks of having the car I had a flat tire and when we brought it to the shop, we were appalled to realize the car had been totally stripped. All underbody panels were missing, transmission heavily damaged, and the balancing bar (a crucial part to the suspension and stability of the vehicle) was gone. We paid 5,000 dollars to replace all of these parts not to mention fix the A/C which was also broken. In September we had to bring it back to the shop to fix a leaking engine coolant, and just recently brought it back to fix an oil leak because the oil pan had a hole in it. At this rate it would have been CHEAPER to buy a brand new 2020 BMW at a certified dealership. The car fax on this car was "clean". No clue how it passed inspection with so many safety features missing. Might I also mention that there was an undocumented engine swap in the vehicle because when we took it to repair the A/C we were told it was a "junkyard" engine. Clearly Tower knew about all of these problems because they buy used auction cars and slap a price on them that is a lot higher than what it is actually worth. I'm so glad we decided not to purchase Tower's warranty because I would hate to have their sketchy mechanics working on my car. Not to mention, the security lug bold key and tool box was missing from the car, another 75$ spent to replace. I know for a fact this was taken from the car because I found the instructions from the tool box in the glove compartment! I also have photos of all the missing parts, and due to New York states lemon laws, we have the authority to pursue legal action against this dealership! I would save your time and your money and stay far, far away...
Read moreWell, what can I say about tower? It has been one of the best auto dealerships that i've gone to for years. In fact, I just went back and bought a second car from them.
Their customer service is wonderful. They treat me so good, and that's why i'm a repeat customer. I pretty much know everybody there, because it's like a little family and it's a family owned business. The owner, it's phenomenal.I can't thank Bob enough for everything he always does for me. And he does that for everybody, he just wants you to be happy with the car that you get from him, that's his main objective.
So thank you from the bottom of my heart for always taking care of me.So I don't have to worry about my vehicle or transportation. I truly never have to worry about anything. When I get a vehicle from him, I know it will be taken care of if I find anything little,Big, whatever he will take care of it, and I love my new Cadillac. Absolutely, love. Love it.
And melanie, you have been wonderful. I can't thank you enough for everything that you've done for me. And Lauren, you sold me the beautiful car, so thank you and of course all the ladies who answer the phones, including Mrs.Bob. and I stopped there this weekend, and I spoke to an old friend, and knows me going way back, and he even offered to help me move. He works for him, Nick, you're awesome. Thank you so much. And this is what I mean about a family . They treat you like you are part of their family. So when it's time to go back for another car in a few years, maybe I'm definitely going to Tower...
