Dr Guitar Music — Local services in City of Watertown

I highly discourage parents, professionals, and anyone else seeking to purchase music equipment or accessories from conducting business with Dr. Guitar Music. They are in business to take advantage of unsuspecting consumers. I visited Dr. Guitar Music today to possibly trade in a digital delay pedal for something else. The pedal I had was used maybe 5 times. I noticed they sell the same one for $169 (you can purchase the identical pedal brand new pedal for $130 everywhere else). Not only was the owner completely unprofessional and rude, he told me that he wouldn’t give me more than $40 for my pedal. I told him not to worry about it, I would try another location in hopes to trade for something used of similar value. I then asked if I could purchase a part for a guitar and he told me NO! He said I could go somewhere else. I have been playing music and buying equipment for over 25 years and have never been treated this way by any other vender. This is not the first experience I have had or the first time I was told something similar about this location. I am extremely reluctant, as most would be, to order an instrument online without having tried it first. I found the guitar I wanted through an online search and Dr Guitar happened to have one at a great price. Of course I contacted them through email and asked all the questions. The response was very thorough and answered all my questions. They had the only 1 that was an actual new guitar. It was displayed in their store but new. I was told "it may have a few pick marks below the strings" so right away I thought, "okay it's going to look nice but used". Everywhere else had used or B stock of this guitar for the same or more than Dr Guitar. So at this point all I could do is have faith that it is what they said it would be. I just received it yesterday and was BLOWN AWAY how nice the guitar is! It looks factory brand new to me and sounds/works/looks beautiful! My first time ordering online for a guitar and first time dealing with Dr. Guitar but they were great on all counts..courteous, prompt, great value, and my biggest concern..they are very honest!! I give up Joe, I don't see any pick marks you were talking about..this thing is out of the box new to me!! Lovin my new guitar!! Thanks so much...

I walked into Dr. Guitar for the first time over a year ago. I had the intent of learning some sort of instrument with dedication and determination in my right hand. One of the members welcomed me and explained to me what a guitar was and how some variations are plugged into a outlet and others can be played at a camp fire. In my journey of teaching myself how to play I periodically returned to try equipment, ask questions, purchase items and feed my passion. Every step of the way a member very patiently walked me through my ignorance and helped me find what I needed at the time. Every guitar I would get as a step up with my skill level I would bring in to get help getting to know the instrument. I got ahold of my first mid-ranged quality guitar and I wanted it to be customized to my specific playing style. A member very skillfully did this just in time before a concert I had. When I got the guitar back I was amazed. Every employee I have met here has many years of experience, and it really shows. This business/community has supported me in my journey and passion.
