There aren’t many places to frequent for night festivities in Watertown, NY that are of adequate caliber in regards to service, cleanliness, and professionalism. In fact, it is seldom and with usual disappointment.
I have been to this establishment on multiple occasions throughout 3 years- pre and post covid. Unfortunately, the service has not improved.
Most recent visit (July 2021) Upon approaching the establishment, the security personnel did not bother to acknowledge me as I wanted to furnish my identification. It was my turn as I waited in line and rather, of the (4) security personnel that were there- not a single one afforded me the time as a patron to enter the facility. So I left.
In observing their interactions with patrons- it is easily identified that the security personnel are not well versed on what their legal limitations are. I have been witness to multiple events where altercations occur and employees will physically handle patrons outside of establishment perimeters. This is not within their legal right for the role in which they are employed. I have also been witness to, particular instances where security personnel fabricate stories in their favor- unprofessional and unethical.
There is no defined area to order beverages. The service is not expeditious, attentive, nor of quality. You can also smell the stagnant liquor in the bar, primarily behind the bar. This is standard practice in a liquor serving facility- to lift the bar mats behind the bar and to disinfect and scrub as a means to avoid unpleasant odors.
Unfortunately, paddock is the “best of all evils” in Watertown and this is where you go to “settle”.
This is a military driven community, more than 60% of the city’s revenue derives from DOD presence. It would behoove the management to retain quality employees who are professional and knowledgeable about the roles in which they secure in addition to performing...
Read moreIf you're a middle aged white male or female in the military or work for the military, this is a good place to cheat on your spouse. If you're anything but that, this isn't a place for you i'm afraid. Especially on a Friday or Saturday night, if you come here you're bound to see a fight and police being called inside every minute or people getting kicked out or not being let in for being slightly intoxicated at a place that sells nothing but alcohol. The average age for women and men here is anywhere from late 30s to early 40s and all the women are married to soldiers currently deployed. Do not dare talk to or attempt to dance with anyone of them or they could potentially have you kicked out even if you just look happen to like the same person that walked by them cause "everyone who isn't white just look alike here especially at night" i was told here. They would have you and your friends kicked out. Very limited options of drinks to choose from i might add. At least didn't have to pay to get in so there's that. For...
Read moreWent for a late lunch/early dinner around 3:30pm, ended up waiting over an hour for our meals. We did have 8 people, so I can understand having a bit of a wait, but we were also the only people there. The loaded tots for Appetizer were great but still took way too long for what they were (30-45 min wait). The meals were mediocre at best, came out one at a time, a few were cold and the chicken was overdone. The only communication the waitress gave that there would be a significant wait was an hour in, after the first meal arrived. The last meal was a buffalo chicken wrap which took an additional 30 min and was was soggy beyond belief. I'm usually not one to complain but this was over the top and the communication was very poor. When the check came, they did comp a meal and 2 soft drinks, which was appreciated. I would recommend as a drinks and apps place for night visits, the martinis were great and the atmosphere was unique (speakeasy meets New Orleans), definitely would not...
