Downtown Bistro 108 — Restaurant in City of Watertown

Went there the other night for the first time. The poor owner was working the bar and dining area herself. Did a pretty good job, though, and was so nice. She even took a couple of moments to talk to us. Suffering from the same malady as everybody else by not finding workers. Anyway, had the Pork Osso Buco, and it was delicious. The meat fell off the bone. The salad was immense. Had the spinach artichoke dip and the Downtown Bistro dip. Both were very good. Was informed they had no deli meat when I was going to originally order the Cubano sandwich, which also removed several other options from the table, and the compressor for the beer draft system was down. Those two drawbacks were disappointing. However, the drinks we ordered were very good, and the meal was both delicious and generous. With our appetizers, meals, and drinks, the bill was only $136 for the three of us, not including a nice tip. If she gets the deli meats in I want to try the Cubano sandwich, but we're definitely going to eat...

Wasn’t such a friendly setting. Made me feel like I stepped into the wrong restaurant. Everyone looking at me as if I didn’t belong. Felt very unwelcomed which I’ll never order from this place ever again. I order the queen steak which I asked to be cooked well done all the way through. But it still had some pink in it. They put no utensils in my bag whatsoever. That’s what happens when the staff rushes. I guess they expected me to eat with my hands or better yet get my food and go. Which was my plans automatically. When I entered and felt the weird vibes. I should have immediately turned around and walked away. You live and you learn. I can say the mash potatoes was awesome. The corn was just bland. Went here on Saturday June 22. Service was satisfactory food was average. Owner was bossy and had an over compensating tough lady kind of attitude. She was kind but more interested in letting you know that she was the boss. Just a strange flex. Also they don’t take AMEX. I very politely inquired as to why and she immediately got almost confrontational exclaiming that she didn’t take it for the same reason I used it. I get points but those points cost her money.
