Jefferson County Historical Society — Attraction in City of Watertown

We drove several hours to come and see this beautiful mansion. When we got there, it was closed, even though the website said they were open for the weekend. A woman dressed in period clothing, opened the door and told us the mansion was closed and that we couldn’t get in. It was not listed on the website that the mansion was closed and when we asked if we could just walk through quickly without a tour, the woman’s response was “sorry I’m leaving now.” We told her that we drove several hours just to see it and her response was “yes it is a beautiful mansion”. This place was awesome. There was some cool stuff inside the museum, almost the whole house was filled with old items.
