Watertown Urban Mission — Local services in City of Watertown

I went into the urban mission today for their food pantry and waited in line for more than 40 minutes , a woman who came in about 10 minutes after me began talking to one of the people working there then all the sudden was at the front of the line with an entire shopping cart full . I am not exaggerating her cart was full completely with things hanging off of the top . I asked her how many she came for and it was just her . My wife and I have three children so we came in for five people, we were given one bag of pulled pork one bag of pulled chicken a bunch of cans of vegetables a loaf of bread and a bottle of grape juice . This woman had a stack of steaks and pork chops . They are giving everything to their friends in bulk while the people who actually need it get enough to last one day . If you have been donating to this mission do not do it anymore, I understand you're doing a good deed but find a place that actually helps people and not just themselves . This is not the first time it has happened every time we go in we wait in line while someone cuts a head and leaves with entire carts then has to come back in to get boxes , while at the same time the rest of us get tiny packages of ground meets and canned food that we can't put together to make a meal . Scheduled a pickup for donation and no one showed up. I’ve not been to the physical location before, but this will prevent me from donating again as I had to take time off to be available for the pickup (furniture) and I did not even receive a phone call to let me know that the pickup was cancelled. I only found out no one was coming because I called myself after several hours had passed with no one arriving. There seemed to be a lot of confusion over what to say to me, and it all came off as very disorganized. I’m sure the shop does well and contributes, which is great. But be warned about scheduling anything to be picked up. After asking around about where else I could donate, I was told by several other people that they had the same problems with furniture pickups. If pickups cannot be completed as scheduled on a regular basis, then perhaps this option should...

My 1st time there, they had items discounted to under $1! I did buy premium, new pants that were $3, but a serious steal!
