We usually shopped at Lowes but this time we thought we would shop local and were told dont worry better machines and we offer better warraties. So we bought a Dishwasher (not cheap either) And the warranty. We paid $849 for the machine and $110 for a 5 year warranty in Feb. 2022. I use Dishwasher cleaner on a regular with the machine. It all of a sudden has a error code so my husband calls blah blah blah they turn it in to the warranty company, we send receipt pictures... they send out a repair man... who has to call his boss because he has no idea. The boss tells him what is wrong and that it looks like this because of the part that went. Blah Blah Blah. The guys tells my husband its this part and that is why it looks like this (it was dirty inside even thought i just cleaned it, happened everytime we used it) Not your fault its this piece. He leaves stating he will order the piece. The warranty company sends an email that states it is our fault the machine is not working and they wont cover it. So in short, The tech wrote the report stating we did not maintain the machine and that is what the problem is. WRONG!! Totally different than what they told my husband. We recieve a denial from the warranty company. Then my husband calls back to Watertown Appliance they say "let me check into it and we will get back to you" the next day we get a phone call from the warranty company that states she wants to "explain that we did not maintain the machine so they will not cover" which is in the email they sent. (not stupid, we can read) Not what we are debating. Husband calls the store again and they tell him Manager will call him back... NO CALL!! So in short. Lowes is a chain store... Yes... But when we have issues they send repair people that do actually repair the product! Warranties are better even though you pay more. And if the store says the manager will call you back..... THEY DO! So Much for shopping local!!! I will not...
Read moreMy husband and I purchased a Frigidaire side by side in March of 2022. We were sold a floor model as it was exactly what we wanted and we needed something fast. We of course inquired about a warranty, being a floor model if anything were to happen we wanted it to be covered. The sales associate explained that because it's a floor model no warranty would be available for purchase. We were hesitant at that point and were going to shop around. But he went on to say, if anything were to happen with the refrigerator call and speak with Joe (the manager) and it will be covered. He wrote Joe's name on our receipt and against our better judgment we went ahead with the purchase. It was about 16 months later when it started leaking and making a high pitch squealing noise. We called Watertown Appliance and asked for Joe. I spoke to a women who explained Joe was on vacation. We were told he'd call us when he was back. Three weeks of listening to an obnoxious high pitch squealing refrigerator, we finally received a phone call.. from the women. She told me it's going to be $125 for them to come diagnose the problem, she went on to say we will also be charged the full cost of labor and the parts could possibly be "discounted." I again, asked to speak with the manager. She put me on hold for 10 minutes and after that I hung up. He called me back a while later basically repeated what she had already told me. They'd "possibly discount the parts" but we'd be responsible for the diagnosis fee and all labor costs.
This is the first Google review I've ever left, I'm not a complainer. I'm just so disappointed. My husband and I like to support small business and shop local as much as possible. It unfortunately didn't work out for...
Read moreI called Errol Hooker in the sales department on June 6. I ordered and paid for a microwave oven to be installed in my motorhome on June 13 at Swan Bay RV resort in Alexandria Bay, New York.
The installers came out to my motorhome Last Friday, June 13 and were unable to complete the installation. They were not comfortable with installing the microwave in my motorhome. The microwave never left the back of the Truck. The installers called back to their boss while they were at my motorhome and were told not to complete the installation They took the microwave back to Watertown with them.
I phoned them June 16th to initiate the refund process, I was told they would initiate and call me back in 15 or 20 minutes. No return phone call.
I just got off the phone with Erroll Hooker, who informed me that they would be refunding my money minus an $80 restocking fee. When I objected to this charge, Errol then lied to his boss about knowing that the installation would be taking place in a motorhome, then transferred me to his boss; the sales manager with an attitude. It was only after I threatened to return to his store tomorrow with the police to file a theft report, he agreed to refund the entire amount.
I asked for the this sales manager’s name, and he told me his name was irrelevant, so I will now refer to him as Mr. Irrelevant
Be very careful with this business as they bold faced lied to me, tried to steal my money, even telling me they had a signed invoice that explained their policies. For the record, this entire transaction was handled over the phone, and I was never provided an invoice either through text...
