DO NOT send a loved one here. They either keep or throw your loved ones belongings away. My mom had bought scrubs for my uncle to wear in the nursing home and he was always missing them after they would “wash” them. My mom left for vacation out of the country and left one of the male nurses, Michael, with my phone number since she is power of attorney and I am second in case of emergency. We went to visit my uncle as usual. Sometimes we would skip a Sunday, but sundays were the days we would visit. When we showed up with my kids, the nurse stopped me just as I was about to enter to ask me if I was his sister. I told him no that I am his niece. She apologized and told me that he had passed away that morning. They left his body in the bed from morning til we got there at 2:30! Michael never put my number in the system! They never had any of his paperwork to know what to do with him and it had nothing to do with my mom not providing them with any because she gave them everything that they said they needed. My husband asked them if they have a place to take the body in the event family isn’t reached for a while because if we were on their two week vacation, he would still be laying in that bed with his roommate in the same room. They looked at eachother and said no. They have the worst communication I have ever seen in a business, which is a HUGE NO! We asked what time he passed away and the lady took a guess that he probably passed around 9 or 9:05. Luckily there was a nurse in the hallway when we went to visit otherwise we would have walked in his room thinking he was asleep and trying to wake him up. It would have been traumatizing for my little ones to witness!!! They should have had my number to call as well!! They never verified that I am his niece, never asked me for ID or anything. They just took my word that I was his niece and that I am second of my mom isn’t available. I made the decision of what to do with his body and where to send it and they just took my word without having to speak to my mom and without having any paperwork. They are very...
Read moreIf I could give a negative number I would. I just brought my mother home from this facility after 18 days. It was the worst experience we have had in any healthcare setting. Call lights were rarely responded to even after 90 minutes. The lack of response to call lights caused her to have several “accidents” which was very humiliating for her. I had to ask about 10 people and beg to get them to help her with a shower. After my begging several staff she finally got 2 showers in the 18 days she was there. We ended up staying at her bedside from 8am till 10pm so we could help her. The first 4 days she did not get her inhaler. When she began wheezing I asked them about it and the said it hadn’t come in from the pharmacy. Medications were rarely on time sometimes as much as 2 hours late. Even though I continually requested therapy focus on her walking she received much more Occupational therapy than Physical therapy. Her bedside commode was rarely emptied by staff. We had to empty it several times a day. I was told by the discharge planner that therapy would assist us with transferring her into the car upon discharge and that would count as her therapy for the day but when we asked they said they weren’t allowed. I should note that I spoke with the interim administrator, a couple of nurse managers and several direct care staff about my concerns and they did little to nothing to improve her care or the car of other residents whose locally lights were on for 45-60 minutes with no response. Do yourself and your family members a favor and avoid this facility...
Read moreThis place is a nightmare! My grandmother is in here for rehab for a broken hip. She's been placed in the trach unit because "there's no beds in the rehab part!" In which there are several beds available in the rehab unit! Was told that they were out of jello and Popsicles also "this is not a hospital." She was left on the bedpan for 45 minutes with a broken hip ; yes I purposely timed it to see how long it would take the workers to come get her off the bed pan. She has indentation marks on her bottom and is very raw now. I personally did CNA clinicals here years ago and while i was putting away the water pitcher's I saw they were on a big tray in dirty water to dry, needless to say that was enough for me. I walked out and didn't return. No wonder there's so many lawsuits against nursing /rehab facilities. And to be told they are out of jello and Popsicles.... I'm sorry but you have people who live here. How can you be out of stuff!? I call BS on being out of both. I call that laziness #1!!!! Highly disappointed with this horrid place!!! And my grandmother will be transferred to...
