I tried to make a purchase in store yesterday (6-21-25). I used a giftcard that had a remaining balance that covered most of the purchase and then tried to use a regular credit card to cover the $2.16 difference, but the register locked up. Two employees waited to see if it would fix itself until one, who I later found out was the manager, decided to restart the register. After restarting, their system didn't show my transaction, but the giftcard's balance was $0 and it showed the transaction. I offered to pay the balance I owed, but was told "no". After some back and forth with the manager, he left the register to call the DM. He either didn't call or it was a very short conversation, but he assured me that the money would be back on the giftcard the following day. I explained to him that I just wanted to complete my purchase, didn't want to have to wait until the following day for something that may or may not happen, and that I lived 15 minutes away so I really didn't want to have to come back if the money didn't make it back to the giftcard. At that point, he asked me what I wanted so I again offered to pay the balance and was again told "no". I even offered to pay the balance AND leave the giftcard since he was positive the money would go back was again told "no". Why ask what I want when you know what I want and you're just going to tell me "no" again. I asked if he would be there the following day and, after he told me he would be, I said I'd come back if the money wasn't back on the giftcard.
I checked the giftcard's balance today (the following day) and saw that it was still $0 so I drove the 15 minutes to speak with the manager again. I asked for him only to be told "he's not in today" meaning he FLAT OUT LIED to me the previous day. I had to explain my situation to someone else who said "the DM doesn't know what she's talking about because it'll take more than one day for the money to go back on the giftcard". So the DM said one thing which the manager assured me was the case after he didn't seem to know what was going on and then someone else told me something completely different. How does the store manager not know exactly what would happen in the case of their system locking up after a card is ran?
All of this is over only $19.22. I feel like it could've easily been made right on the first day.
This is my second bad experience with this location. I placed an order online in April 2024 for store pick-up. I received the email to tell me my order was ready, but upon arriving at the store, I was told they didn't have one of the items. The email showed it was ready and no one from the store bothered to call me ahead of time to let me know their inventory was off. This required me to go to another location 10 minutes away.
This location is terrible. Go literally...
Read moreIt is 12:39 PM here in southern Indiana on June 11, 2023. I couldn’t get the name tag on the gentleman but he was very unhelpful. He was wearing a gray shirt with glasses but was an older gentleman when I asking him what is the best oil for my vehicle, when I asked him the difference between 5W 20 and 5W 30. His response was “mark whatever your car takes” I told him that from what I was reading in the owners manual it could take either one 5W 20 or 5W 30. He simply could not help me out and figure out which one was the best. All I want is good quality I’m willing to pay $100 for oil if I have to as long as it is good quality and the right one but unfortunately he had other plans on hanging out in the back while somebody else ran the front. Keep in mind there is only one customer in the store at this time besides me, he was very rude and just acted like he didn’t want to be there. And that’s fine not all of us want to work but we’ve got to pretty unprofessional response for somebody in a gray shirt that I believe is some sort of management I will continue to support AutoZone but not the...
Read moreCame in to test/charge my battery and was told it was dead/unlikely it will hold charge but because of the factors of the staff being rude (every single time i come in since i work on cars from home often) in general and complaining about people coming in when all they wanted to do was smoke along with the comment “oh this girl knows her cars huh” in a derogatory tone.I decided to just leave and go to the autozone in Clarksville. While talking to the employees at the Clarksville location i was told yes my battery is dead but can be charged and to pick it up later all the while being completely professional and actually happy to help. Moral of the story just because a store is close to you, does not mean you...
