This is a minor issue that has, over time grown into a large one. Simple change in behaviors and practices of one individual would make all the difference. Integrity is important...following through and doing what is promised. Something the Store Manager has not done. Being yelled at by an Employee is not warranted when that Employee is not being treated with disrespect. Unengaged Management; lacking courtesy. We have shopped this location since 2015 and have started to go elsewhere for many groceries. An Employee at this location insists on taking up four entire parking spots daily. These spots are located within the only shaded locations in the lot. I have approached this Employee and kindly asked him to stop doing it. Simply park in one spot and leave the three other spots for customers. He was extremely rude and drove off yelling at me. This was witnessed by a few people, all of whom I have contact details for and will happily provide if so interested. On his rant, I was told I'm not his boss. So, I then went to the Store Manager and told him what happened. Store Manager assured me that not only is that behavior not acceptable, but taking up multiple spots that are meant for customers is not acceptable and he would be handling the situation. Well, this Employee still takes up all four spots every single time he is at work. Having been in Management for many years, I know beyond shadow of doubt, Employees are not supposed to take up so many spots. Not only is it unprofessional, but it is disrespectful to all customers who would otherwise like the opportunity to park in that area. This is the only location that has such a problem. As Store Manager is unable to make a very simple corrective action, wondering if contacting District level will make...
Read moreThis has been my main place for buying 98% of my groceries since we moved here in 2014. With a new Publix down the road, and a Harris Teeter next to that, I still am loyal to Food Lion. I checked out the new Publix today to see what everyone was going on about, hyping it up, and in Publix you get a sterile/non feeling atmosphere in my opinion. It is insanely overpriced and the people working there, although friendly, seem robotic in their courteousness to you, and not genuine.
I love the prices, the atmosphere and the quality at food lion. Particularly this one. It feels more like family and never had an issue that wasn't promptly dealt with by a manager/customer service. Their grocery pickup is affordable and fast and just a great location and store. Great deli, bakery and meat selections. I also love their pharmacy! always friendly, helpful and faster than the rude, slow options at cvs or walgreens. So I am happy they have a pharmacy.
Overall, love this location and I figured it was about time to...
Read moreGood evening. Let me first say I'm not sure if this entire review is on Food Lion or not. We placed our bi-weekly instacart order tonight. The lady shopping the order informs us she has to refund our order of 2 gallons of milk because there's no whole milk. She substituted our order for Canadian bacon for regular bacon without asking. We didn't get our 2 gallons of orange juice and didn't know it til we got home. Several other items were refunded or replaced. I know some of this falls on Instacart, but not having a lot of everyday common grocery store items are regularly out of stock or have to be replaced for something else. Trust me. We don't get a bunch of off the wall stuff. Thinking seriously of just spending the extra money and going to Harris Teeter or Publix. I generally wind up there picking up the stuff they didn't have at Food Lion. Do...
