We thought we were going to a place called “Turkish Gyro” which had great reviews but is apparently at 633 Anderson Ave so somehow saw this place said “Turkish food” so thought it’s the same place, we were hungry and thought how bad can it be? So I’m in my 50s and eat out regularly but can definitely say this is one of the worst experiences, if not worst experience ever eating out. The place was totally empty on a Sunday but again we were hungry so proceeded to sit down. And To be safe we just ordered 2 wraps and a Turkish tea and a soft drink. No water was offered at all, so we sat and waited for our tea and soda, it took a while even though we were the only customers. I’d never had Turkish tea so was excited, when it came I had a sip and immediately realized it’s Tetley tea, nothing more, in a very small glass. Then we waited (as 2 non-Turkish females) quite a long time for the food to arrive, again there was no one else there. The plates come out and I’m shocked. I literally could NOT believe they were serving us this. 2 men were standing by us, the waiter and the server and I asked “is this it?” There are exactly 5 small fries on the plate with a tiny wrap in tin foil. In my life I’ve Never been served such a joke as this at a food establishment, looks maybe worth $5 if that. At this time I should’ve paid for the 2 drinks and walked out but I didn’t. I open the tiny wrap and my falafel wrap had very very little falafel, a piece of lettuce, maybe a slice of onion and no sauce, dry dry dry, AND the 5 pieces of fries were COLD. I eat this stuff all the time so I know good middle eastern food but A 10 year old child couldve made a better plate than this. My niece said her chicken wrap was also dry. No ketchup or sauce was offered and no sauce was in either wrap so I had to ask for some to make the food edible. They knew what they set before us was not acceptable in any restaurant setting, but my guess is they saw 2 females who are non-Arabic so they took advantage of us. The wraps were 12$ each and were supposed to include fries. The bill was $30 total and I was so upset. We felt cheated and played. I told the guy standing over us at the end that what they offered was not worth anything close to $30 and we didn’t get fries and our wraps were dry and measly at best. He said he would “let the kitchen know” but he saw it when the plates came to our table and thought it was ok when I initially questioned “is this it?” I never like to write bad reviews bcus I’m very careful where I eat but this place we ended up as a fluke and we are very very sorry we ended up here. My guess is most of the good reviews are from friends. It was unacceptable what they served us but Ofcourse he took our money very fast at the end!! With no...
Read moreA Taste of Turkey in the USA: Ayintap is a Must-Visit If you’re searching for a true taste of Turkey without the plane ticket, Ayintap Turkish Mediterranean Restaurant is where your journey ends. I have been to Istanbul twice, so i know the original taste.
Our party of eight recently dined here, and we all agreed: this is, without a doubt, the most authentic Turkish food we've ever had in the United States. Every dish we tried was a masterpiece, but a few stood out. The kebabs were incredibly juicy and flavorful, cooked to perfection. The lamb chops were equally impressive—tender, succulent, and seasoned beautifully. The Laham bread, a Turkish flatbread topped with minced meat, was rich and savory, a perfect starter for the feast to come. The Mixed Grill Kebab was a showstopper, offering a delicious variety that satisfied everyone at the table. And then there was the grand finale: the Kunafa. This traditional dessert, with its layers of shredded phyllo dough and sweet cheese, was simply out of this world. It was the perfect end to an unforgettable meal. The entire experience felt like a warm embrace from authentic Turkish cuisine. From the first bite to the last, Ayintap delivered an exceptional culinary experience. We're already planning our next visit and will definitely be returning...
Read moreI do not reccomend for the low quality food and unreasonable prices for small portion size. Had their shepherd salad, that had more onions than anything else. It tasted sweet, for whatever reason. Had their beed wrap which not only was it very dry and hard to chew, it came with no sauce on the side and with 8 fries. Also had their stuffed eggplant (one) that was served with a small scoop of rice. All of their dishes were served in (small) salad plates to make their portions look big. Their home made ayran tasted weak, like water. I would not spend my money here. Food was less than mediocre, small portions for the prices they are charging. Better turkish food...
