Iām from Florida and every time I visit New Jersey I go to Top Style Nails. The nail techs always did a good job and this salon was my to go to nail salon until my last visit. All it took is bad management, poor quality gel nail polish and a nasty disrespectful front receptionist or whatever she was, to lose me as a customer. I had my manicure done on this time, but the next day the glittery purple gel color (#112) started turning yellowish and looking spotty and ugly. I called them and made an appointment so they can fix the issue at no cost to me. When I show up, they wanted to use the same exact color to redo the nails or they wanted to charge me $25 to use a different color. I told the bratty girl in the front who was discussing this with me that thatās not what I was told and it wouldnāt make sense to use the same color because the same thing will happen again. She said I mustāve put my hands in something that caused it to change color, I told her I did nothing out of the ordinary just cook and usual light house work since Im visiting in NJ and itās not like I work here and get exposed to some kind of chemicals or radiation at any job. She was talking over me and raised her voice at me when I was explaining the last part. At that time she has sat me down with a tech who already started removing the old nail polish as I was getting furious.they were both talking to each other (not English so I couldnāt understand what they were saying) as I was explaining that it wasnāt my fault and everything. When I said that this is the last time I come here and that I was going to leave a āniceā review, the tech (Sherly or Sheryl who seemed to be a manager) said something so that bratty girl said in an aggressive tone (only this time no charge just this time) I told her first of all thats how it should be, second of all donāt talk to me in this tone like youāre doing me a favor. I also told her that this will still be my last time here. This was a very disappointing and stressful experience and I will never go there again. Their ratings on yelp is 2.5 stars and now I know why. When the nail tech/manager (Sheryl) finished I still gave her a $10 tip. The pix below show how my nails looked like literally the next day I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came here for the first time 3 days ago. I was impressed by the shop and how clean it appeared and how busy it was. I went in to get the old gel nail polish that was poorly chipped and over a month old, done by another salon (I was happy with the previous one just took a long time to get redone). The entire time I was there I was disrespected by not only my technician by all of the woman running the place, as I was dressed extremely masculine [which is because of my job doing security]. They not only were looking at me and speaking to me as if i did not belong in the shop, but were extremely disrespectful.
For example, I am color blind and was looking for a neutral color, a grey or a white nail polish and I had asked them for help in choosing so. However, I was mocked for having to ask for help on such a 'basic task', as I asked for help they looked at me basically like if I'm not capable of choosing my own color, why would I do my nails. I was already discouraged.
We chose a color, a grey [happens to be purple when I get home and a family member points it out, but unimportant]. Now less than 3 days later, my nails are completely chipped and look awful. My previous gel manicure stayed for well over a month without chipping, and in less than 3 days this gel manicure is already chipped.
When I left, I received a card to come back if my nails chipped in 10 days. I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THIS AS A SIGN. ITS BEEN 3 DAYS AND NOW I NEED TO RETURN TO GET THEM REDONE. Let it be known that after they fix the chipping I will NEVER, EVER return to this nail salon, between the service, and now the quality I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI almost never leave negative reviews, but this place truly deserves it 100%. The receptionist is unbelievably rude and unprofessional. The nail techs are always rushing, never paying attention to what you actually want, itās clear their only goal is to finish and move on. On top of that, they keep whispering and talking to each other in their language while working, completely ignoring the client, itās unprofessional and super annoying.
Today was the final straw. I booked a 6:00 appointment and drove all the way from my work in NY. Out of courtesy, I called to let them know Iād be about 15 minutes late due to traffic. At first she said okay, then called me back to tell me they would cancel my appointment unless I rescheduled for tomorrow, even though I told her I was literally 5 minutes away on that call. No consideration whatsoever for my time. And they close at 8 and accept walk ins, so they had no excuse to cancel on me.
Iāve been a customer for a year now, giving them chance after chance, and this is how they deal with loyal clients. Every visit has been a waste of time and money. I gave them multiple chances simply because theyāre close to my home, but every time there was a problem: nails lifting within days, sloppy filing, and overall poor hygiene.
I should have never wasted my time or money here to begin with. As a blogger, I will make sure to share my experience on ALL my social media platforms so others stop dealing with them, maybe then theyāll learn to respect peopleās...
