GLAM Prom — Local services in Clive

I wanted to thank Glam for an amazing experience.

My daughter was looking for a particular prom dress that we could not find in her size within our home state of Kentucky. I came across GLAM via Google and GLAM's online inventory showed that they had the dress in the correct size and color! I followed the prompts on their website and sent a text. Within minutes I had a response that they indeed had what we were looking for. I called them immediately and spoke to who I believe was the owner, Amy. She confirmed the dress was there and that they could ship it. She even went the extra mile and sent me a video and pictures of the dress. I told her I wanted it but I was currently at a basketball game so it would be a couple hours before I could send payment. Amy told me she would pull the dress off the floor and I could pay later that evening after the ball game. I sent her payment a couple hours later and the dress was shipped out that next day. (She didn't even charge me extra for shipping the dress or for the garment bag.) We had the dress in our hands two days later and it was perfect.

Very disappointed in my experience at GLAM today. I am an 18 year old shopping for my senior prom dress that I will be purchasing ALONE, with NO parent helping fund my purchase. 5 of my friends and I, all above the age of 18, all of us being legal adults, visited GLAM today to search for a prom dress. We were asked if our parents were with us and told that we could not try on any dresses if we were without a parent and asked to leave the store. Even though only 5 other girls were in the store, it was considered a “high traffic” time and we were told that no exceptions could be made. If as a legal adult, I can get a tattoo, lease/buy a house or an apartment, and legally VOTE in the presidential election, I am baffled as to why I am not allowed to try on a prom dress. You have now lost the business of my friends and I that have visited the store today. I am offended by this policy as an adult that will be purchasing her ENTIRE prom dress alone. Will not be returning to this location...

Huge selection and great space for trying on prom dresses. (No brides or bridesmaids to steal the staffs' attention!) My daughter selected a dress to be shipped to our home. The only glitch is you do not receive a tracking number and are unable to submit an email address to the design house who will be shipping. The dress was delivered but needed an over age 21 signature (not by the fault of the store), so my 18 year old daughter could not sign for her own dress. I did not have a tracking number to track down the dress and I panicked, called the store and left a somewhat rude and distressed message. The owner of the store graciously returned my call and left the tracking number for me. I cannot say enough about this wonderful personal service. Thank you, Amy! I highly recommend your prom shop...
