Absolutely HATED our experience at this village inn. The line was outrageous and when we asked the hostess how long the wait would be she said 5 minutes. More like 15 was what we waited for to be seated. We sat down at the table maybe around 11:30 or so. Waited TWENTY minutes for our waitress to show up so we could order our drinks. I had to ask another waitress where ours was so we could just order our food and drinks at the same time to avoid more waiting because other tables had been seated after us and received their food and drinks before us. There were only 2 cooks in the kitchen so I understood why it was a little slow but you would think that the manager on duty would do anything in her power to wrangle more employees to come in. After we ordered it took AN HOUR AND A HALF for our food to reach our table AFTER I went to the kitchen to see where our food was. Our waitress did apologize once for the delay but we had to ask for her to refill our drinks when our food came COLD. So hungry after waiting 2 hours after arriving, we ate our cold food and went to check out at the desk so we could get out of there. The lady that rung us out asked us how everything was and after we relayed all that had happened all she seemed was appropriate to say was "Ok Sorry" and that was it. No "I'm sorry, what can I do to make this right for you?" Or "Let me grab the manager and we can work something out for you because you were unsatisfied." NOPE. She was just in a hurry to get us out of there. I DO NOT recommend this establishment to anyone who wants to enjoy a hot meal served in a timely manner. If I could give LESS THAN ONE STAR, I would. Absolutely terrible service. And by reading the other reviews now, I see many others feel...
Read moreI learned my lesson, never go to VI or and place similar when NOT busy. I told the waiter Samuel( no name tag I asked him his name) told him I worked there many moons ago, he made a silly comment. I ordered a Patty Melt comes with 2 cheeses, I said no Swiss but only got one kind of cheese. Came out quickly but other tables had ordered and finished. First time ever I got a Patty Melt NOT cut in half! It's not a burger, Mr not properly trained cook! Samuel never checked back, to see if my order was OK, sure he was told that within a couple minutes of delivering she always ask "how everything is". He then set the check on the table as he walked by saying nothing! I ate half of the Patty Melt and half the fries as I cannot eat that big of a meal. I will have the other half for lunch tomorrow. Village Inn is noted for their PIES, right. Again never have I not been offered pie to eat, take home or even buy a whole pie to home. I went to the register paid and left a 20% tip. Why idk. I then said "Do you not sell pie anymore?" NO response. No, sorry did you want some. Sure we sell pie would you like to take some "to go". Nothing just stood there. As I exited I said "That's okay I will go to Casey's( next door) and get a candy bar!! Still not a word but I bet I know what he was thinking, I ME was the witch and he did a great job. No surprise this store almost closed years ago. They should be packed not just for breakfast. It was very busy years ago. Since I worked there I will call the manager, with ALL my...
Read moreWent to Sunday Brunch with a group of friends, and can say this is the worst Village Inn experience I've ever had. We called ahead to see how long the wait would be, and they said 5 minutes. Showed up and it was changed to 10 minutes, but it was well over 20 minutes before we got to our table. Our waiter seemed swamped, had too many tables, but was very friendly when he could squeeze in time to check on us which wasn't often. We ordered, and it took OVER AN HOUR for our food to show up. We were joking that maybe we should have ordered lunch instead of breakfast if we would have known it was going to be that long of a wait. By the time the food reached our table, most of it was cold. We actually had our waiter reheat one of our soups, and another friend found a hair in their far from fresh fruit. For a Sunday Brunch, I would think a restaurant know for their breakfast food would be fully staffed and every table would be filled. This was far from the case, and the line was out the door waiting for an experience that I don't think they had imagined when they decided to dine out. If it wasn't for the great company I was with, I would have up and left along with the others that had less patience. If corporate is reading this review, I would strongly recommend looking into the problems that this establishment is facing, as I would given this zero...
