Not 5 stars because they don't always have what I'm looking for (but more on that later in the review) and because their clearance sales in the garden section aren't impressive at all. Overall, the prices on everything at Tractor Supply aren't as good as they used to be just a few years ago. Maybe it's the effects of the pandemic or inflation, whatever, but their prices used to be very competitive. That's what actually made me become a TS customer in the first place. I don't go here as often as I used to because prices have been getting very high on a lot of things.
But the wonderful people who work here saved it from being 3 stars. The employees are always helpful and if they don't know the answer to your question, they look for an answer. If they don't have something you need, they do indeed look it up to see if it's something that can be ordered and delivered to the store. They are always professional and courteous. I don't think I've ever had a negative experience with an employee here at this location (Coal Twp).
I have found that if I look on their website first before going to the store, I can see if what I need can be ordered and brought to my store location for pickup. There have been quite a few times they didn't have what I wanted in stock, but it was available online and I only had to wait a few days for it to be delivered to the store. I don't mind that at all, but mentioning it for people who don't usually think to look online - definitely look online. You'll be surprised they have a lot more to offer than just what's physically in the store.
They have a decent amount of supplies for small animals, which comprises most of the reason for my trips to Tractor Supply in the first place (I have guinea pigs). And I absolutely love that you can get vaccines for your dogs here (except rabies, as that one legally has to be administered by a licensed vet).
Improvements that can be made are definitely in the garden section, especially in the spring. They have great choices for fencing and tools, etc... No complaints there! But as far as the plant selection goes, it would be great to see more perennials offered. And when plants look bad, and this happens with plants, I'm not blaming the store, they should be offered at clearance prices that actually reflect it's a clearance price. They just don't discount it enough if it's something that's falling apart or has dead branches, etc. Clearance should be 50-75% off, not 10-15% off. That's just a sale, not...
Read moreHonestly, I shouldn't be allowed to shop here. I spend an exorbitant amount more money than I should, but boy it's like an adult toy store, well... one without sticky booths. Anyway so I love this place, it has so many things for your outdoor work and your pets and farm animals.
The staff at the one near me in Coal Township, PA are always super helpful and very nice. The one guy (I think he's a manager) even helped explain everything I need to know about chainsaws.
Prices are pretty good and even cheaper for some stuff compared to say Lowes or Home Depot, which actually surprised me. Everything is always organized and easy to find as well.
I'd absolutely recommend Tractor Supply, it also has Tractor in the name, who doesn't like tractors? And no they didn't pay me to write this, I wish they did though... I could offset some of the money I...
Read moreWhen I was in the store asked where and if they carried an item the girl at the register did not seem to want to be bothered due to her being on her cell phone, found what I was looking for on my own after looking myself, went to pay for my item and the item was to be on sale and I asked if the price she read to be was with the sale price and it was like a problem she had to make sure I was not lying and then came back to the register, stated yes that is, then another lady came behind her and said yes it is. They both seemed like they did not want to be bothered I will not go back to this tractor supply I will make sure to go out of my way to go to a different one from...
